“Tired room- in need of refurb”

Hotel in good location. Convenient for central railway station. Check in fine, friendly staff. However bedroom very basic, in need of refurb, stained carpet, stained walls in bathroom. Paint flaking off. Musty smell in room. Can't comment on food as didn't have any there but lounge and restaurant areas looked ok.

“Good stay”

It is located very close to the train station, and I got a Valentine's deal for free dinner, breakfast and a glass of wine for two for £62. To get all that for that price is a bargain. The reception staff was friendly and the room was nice, although the decor in the hallway could be renovated. The dinner was just okay, nothing fancy or great. Breakfast buffet was nice.

“Night in Toon”

We stayed at the Jury's Inn for one night and both the hotel itself and the location were perfect for us. We didnt spend too much time there, as we were out in the evening and checked out early the next day, but the room was comfy and the staff helpful

“Brilliant location, not so good customer service!”

The hotel itself is perfectly adequate, quite dated in places, but nothing actually wrong with it. The room was ready for us on arrival, clean and tidy although the bathroom grout was quite grotty but nothing some bleach couldnt sort out. We had drinks in the bar at night, and found it well stocked, staffed, clean, tidy and good value for money. When we went for breakfast in the morning, the waiting staff asked us to pay (again) and couldnt say my surname even though I said it 3 times! He then asked me to come with him to reception to say my name for him. Having worked in hotels for over 10 years, I was quite disappointed with the level of service I received and expected better.

Area recommendations

This hotel was perfectly placed for the reason for our trip. We were going to see Michael Buble at the Metro Arena.

“Great Location in Newcastle”

Jurys is in a great location for the train station and the city center. Very reasonable pricing from Expedia really makes it worth the money. I have stayed here a few times and have not been dissapointed.

“This is a very convenient , 3 - 4 star hotel”

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station, and a 15 - 20 minute taxi ride to the airport. We arrived in Newcastle by train and needed a hotel for the night before catching our flight back home the next morning. There is a rather large bar menu, with the food being both tasty and resonably priced. Overall we were pleased with our stay.

“great mid week hotel, very convenient”

affordable and functional hotel in the centre of the city and easily accessible to everything on foot. Location map is not accurate as road layout of city centre has changed and local road signs are somewhat lacking!

“Let down by noisy staff and wooden spoon”

This is a nice hotel in a good and very convenient location. The hotel is very clean throughout and the room was comfortable. The problem was noisy cleaning staff, who woke us on our last morning with loud talking and even louder cleaning in the next room. You would think that they wanted us to wake up and vacate the room! The bar was nice if a bit small but it was disappointing that the coffee on which the hotel prides itself came with a wooden spatula instead of a spoon.
