What to do in Windermere
Windermere, Lancaster & Lake District from Manchester
"The hotel is ideally located, well maintained and has very helpful staff.
The spa is excellent and has a bar accessible directly from it.
Breakfast was good and all produce tasted local.
The hot tub was secluded with a great view."
"Lovely B&B with spacious, comfy room & bathroom, all spotless and containing everything we needed. Excellent breakfast with a good selection of bars and restaurants nearby for dinner. Easy walk from here down to Bowness. Easy check-in and advance breakfast ordering system but the icing on the cake were the lovely staff. Advised them we had just got quietly married and got back to find they’d decorated our bed! So sweet ❤️"
"Only small gripe was the shower head had a bit of black mould on it and one roller blind came away whilst I was closing it. Luckily my husband was able to clip it back in quickly.
Room and bedding both clean, grounds beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic, quality hot cooked breakfast and very pleasant staff. We would visit again, thank you."
"A wonderful old country house for an overnight stay. The staff were exceptional, from check-in, through evening meal, to check-out. Welcoming, friendly and professional.
We had an excellent meal in The Grill.
The view from our room was spectacular."
"The hotel is in a perfect location. The decor is spotless. Some amazing chandeliers!!! The staff were so charming and helpful. Breakfast was great. large dining room with self service buffet having everything you desire which was frequently topped up.
The bar drinks were expensive though. £25 for 2 glasses of white wine seemed way too much to us.
The rooms do differ in size a lot though so I would go for the biggest you can afford if you want a view and space to move around.
Beds are really...
"Absolute fantastic place to stay, highly recommended with nothing to dislike. Credit to Rich, Ada and the team, felt home from home and part of their family. Knowledgeably about places to visit, eating out, parking. Nothing was a problem and owners on hand regular if anything needed. Definitely will return. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
