"Overall the physical hotel is great, its modern, well maintained and the room I had at least, a double with a balcony facing the river, was very well sized considering its London especially. The staff are also very friendly and it feels befitting of the 5 star rating. The knock on this and why I can’t give this 5/5 is the breakfast, which caused some debate on a couple of tables where it has a couple of drawbacks. 1 it’s close to only a buffet which is disappointing and the selection is pretty low. You can order some types of eggs and it turns out although not told to us, omelettes too. The shame came when a table next to us were able to get pancakes or waffles for children, when asking for the same we were told as adults, dispite breakfast being paid for, this would be a supplement, but again - not if we had a kid. Not being an argumentative type after a short back and forth for the strangeness of this policy I let it go. 5 minutes later another table escalated the exact same thing with more vigour, queue the manager coming over and them making a concession and bringing them over some waffles inclusive. This might not sound like much but we had a really nice stay and you end on breakfast which firstly just wasn’t that nice, secondly felt almost like an outsourced venue and team and thirdly has this inclusive/excluded boundary which is really pretty arbitrary and unique and clearly is causing the staff and team issues. A very fixable problem, but not 5 star service."

"The hotel is very central for a few days in London. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. We had stayed here last year and even though there had been renovations we felt we got a better room with amenities last year. This year room was smaller, hardly any natural light (not good for somebody with dodgy eyesight) and was very disappointed that the rooms were no longer equipped with a fridge. Also for the size of the hotel we felt more lifts would have been useful. That being said if you are going to be out all day and evening exploring London and just need a room to sleep and shower this could be for you."
