This hotel is always busy, it caters a lot for business travellers as well as the usual tourists. The rooms are nice and well appointed. The restaurant serves a buffet style meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With plenty of choices, the wine pub serves good wines and good food.
"Good but not as good as it was. Bit too expensive"
I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions but next time I will stay probably stay somewhere else. Certainly the staff are excellent and some still seem the same for many years. On my previous couple of visits I had the impression that the rooms were getting a little tired. My observation this time is that while it was perhaps 4.5 stars or a little better on my first visit in 2002 it was now comfortably settling into the 4 star (just) category while putting its prices up to those of hotels with better facilities. They seem to be relying on guest loyalty from people who remember it from its better days and only notice its slow decline upon their return after they have booked and paid. The decline is so gradual that they will probably return again because they know the place. A case of better the "devil you know than the devil you don't!"
We stop for 1 night on the way back to London fron our holidays in Phuket. It was nice stopover near to centre of Bangkok and not too far from both the airports in Bangkok. Staff was very helpful and room was comfortable and clean. Buffa breakfast was with Very good with lots of different type of food choices. Check out time was 12pm, our flight was back to at midnight depaturer, we checked out at 12 and there is facility to leave your bags in the hotel and go shopping etc. You can leave upto 9pm. You can sit in hotel lobby as well.
Sky-high buildings and rock-bottom prices recommend this bustling shopping district north of downtown. The revolving observation deck of Baiyoke Tower II, Thailand's tallest building, overlooks Pratunam's vast wholesale open air fashion market. Visitors can also cool off at air-conditioned Platinum Mall or visit the night market on Ratchawithi Road near the lofty spire of Victory Monument.
