My wife and I booked in here for 4 nights. Located on Sukhumvit Rd it is in the middle of a very vibrant, and colourful part of this huge city. Nightlife to suit all tastes is very close to hand. It's close to the Sky train so travel to other areas was not too difficult.
We booked a club room on the 29th floor with great views. This also allowed us to take our breakfast in the club room on the top floor, which also provided guests with complimentary snacks and drinks between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. The room was a decent size and very well appointed. A large comfy bed with a control pad for the air con, lights and curtains was to hand. Fresh fruit and water was provided.
The hotel had a lovely cocktail bar just off the very big and smart reception. It also had a lovely restaurant and its own café/bakery with tables outside.
Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Overall a very good choice indeed.
I have stayed many times at the Westin Grand very close to this hotel. That was always the comfortable choice, and was allowed by my corporation. I am now traveling for my own company and chose the Sofitel and was truly impressed. I will always stay there in BKK in the future. A great experience with great and very attentive staff.
The stay was an absolute pleasure. Services were excellent, courteous and pleasant. Room was clean and more than suffice. Buffet spread was tasty and of great variety. My whole week's stay was pleasant despite stress from work. I will definitely stay again.
So close to the Nana entertainment area but just far enough away to be quiet and unrushed. Short walk to Ploen Chit BTS station and taxis easy to catch from the front door. 5 minute walk to Nana Plaza.

The hotel room was hot and did not to our knowledge have an adjustable thermostat. We never did ask staff, though. It was decent for our stay though I wish that we had splurged a little more since it was our honeymoon. Honestly we stayed in Bangkok way too long as it was so I was a little sour about that. Probably affected my stay at the hotel.
The hotel is centrally located in Bangkok with a train stop just in front of the hotel. The hotel is very quiet and formal with a very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel lobby has coffee shops, pharmacy, convenience store, and cafes as well as the regular hotel restaurants. There is plenty to walk and see outside the hotel which is Ina safe area to walk.
The breakfast buffet was diverse with traditional Thai food as well as the usual breakfast items.

The JW Marriott is on Sukhumvit Road, too; I mistook this hotel for that one when booking an air/hotel package on Expedia. A fortuitous mistake. The room (29th floor) was lovely; king bed, enormous bathroom with separate shower and toilet stalls and a large tub with great views. Hotel is only 2 years old (at Nov 2015), still has that brand-new feeling. Standing at the front desk checking in, the manager came over to inquire if I was being helped (I was; clerk was copying my passport). Staff was uniformly smiling, helpful and solicitous. Absolutely no noise on my floor.
I only ate breakfast here; the standard Asian buffet choices for USD 20.00 (THB 700), not distinguished. Several dining options in the hotel that looked very nice, if pricy. Noodle shop (Kauw's?) half-a-block down Sukhumvit from the hotel was a find; delicious and inexpensive, sidewalk seating.

Here, moderate to plus hotels are complemented by a nightlife scene that thrives along one of the major commercial arteries of Bangkok. The mix is further enhanced by street stalls, international restaurants, antique shops, traditional stores, and large shopping complexes such as Sukhumvit Plaza, Times Square, Robinsons, and the up-market Emporium. The skytrain offers speedy access along the thoroughfare.
