Great hotel! Spotlessly clean; staff well trained and appeared genuinely happy to be there. Customer service very good. Food very good also. Would stay again.

I would really recommend this hotel if you are a dog owner wanting to bring them with you, or if you are looking for a hotel in a lovely location just away from the main bustle of Falmouth. Our room was lovely and spacious, there is an enclosed garden for dogs to run around with, dogs are welcome at mealtimes - perfect. There is also an access point to the SW coastal path about a 10 minute walk away, and two dog friendly beaches (no restrictions) within either 10-15 minute walk / 5 minute drive...

First class furnishings, including very wide and comfortable bed, and good ensuite. The breakfast room was closed because of Covid 19, but the room service breakfast was very comprehensive and very generous, and delicious!

Great little find. Nothing really local in terms of walking distance, but well equipped rooms with double glazing, heating and air con, comfy beds and friendly service.
Fantastic food that locals travel specifically for - would stay again if in the area.

I stay in a lot of hotels with my work trips and this is one of the best if not the best place to stay. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed with a warm, helpful and happy check in. All the staff are extremely polite and go out of their way to make your stay as relaxing and pleasent as possible. I have stayed here many times in different types of there accommodation and each one is to the highest standard and extremely clean and tidy and are set in beautiful surroundings with a lovely...

Really lovely stay- very comfortable room and felt safe with COVID preventative measures in place. The only negative is they appear to have charged me twice as I had already paid through hotels.com for the two rooms I had booked.

It was clean and comfortable. Spacious room with very comfy bed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. It was literally one or two minutes walk to the Hall of Cornwall, so perfect if you are seeing a show there. Secure car park. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was perfect mix of hospitality and infirmity. Friendly staff, excellent food, clean rooms, thoughtful little touches like the stock of Wellington boots and nightly hot water bottles and stunning views of the sea.

The best area to stay in Penpol is the historic village centre, particularly around the Quay and the surrounding lanes, for its charming character and convenient access to the estuary.
The village centre is a focal point for visitors, offering a quintessential Cornish experience. It's characterised by narrow, winding streets, traditional stone cottages, and direct access to Penpol Creek, a tidal inlet of the River Fal. The Quay itself is a popular spot for watching boats and enjoying the waterside.
For couples seeking a relaxing and picturesque getaway, staying in the village centre is ideal. You'll find a selection of quaint guesthouses and holiday cottages, many with views of the creek or located in quiet lanes. It provides a peaceful base for exploring the local footpaths, enjoying cream teas, and visiting nearby attractions like the National Trust Trelissick Garden, which is just a short drive away.
Families will also find the village centre appealing due to its tranquil environment and access to outdoor activities. Children can enjoy crabbing from the Quay or exploring the foreshore at low tide.
When is the best time to go to Penpol?
The best time to go to Penpol is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally at its finest for exploring the Cornish coast.
During these months, you'll experience longer daylight hours and milder temperatures, making it great for outdoor activities like coastal walks along the South West Coast Path or enjoying the beaches nearby. The sea is also warmer for swimming and watersports, and local attractions, gardens, and eateries operate with extended hours.
For those who prefer a quieter experience without the peak summer crowds, late May and early June, or September, are ideal. The weather is still pleasant, but there are fewer visitors, allowing for a more relaxed pace and potentially better value on accommodation.
