"Grand and historically interesting building with extensive beautiful grounds by the Canal. Plenty parking available. Great breakfast, restaurant and bar area. Friendly helpful staff."

"Great selection available for Breakfast, it was hard to choose 😃 What we were disgusted with was the amount of people who thought it was acceptable to come down to breakfast in their pyjamas and the staff should have told them that nightwear is not suitable attire. Do what you like in your own home, but nobody needs to see your pyjamas. Room was lovely, bed was really comfy. Accessible bathroom was great, it was so nice not falling out the bath due to our mobility issues. Internet was great. Loved the fact you can alter the heating level in the room to your liking. Room had a kettle, tea, coffee, milk and sugar and a tv which was great just right height to watch in bed for news and movie. Would definitely stay here again. Value for Money"

"Clean room staff very helpful,Bar is very nice serve and friendly in different room Breakfast is all there very nice. But when stayed in No 1 (McNeil) toilet you can get WiFi but you out of toilet you can’t have it! And when outside doorway about 8pm and early morning can’t see get a light on see where I am going!"

"Stay was as expected for that price, average. Receptionist was great, embarrassed by having to ask for £5 for parking. The parking charge was unexpected and unwelcome, they had plenty of time to warn us but didn't bother."

"When I checked in, I was given a room that was already occupied by someone. I walked into this room, using the key I was given and interrupted a couple who were asleep in the room. Not a good start. I was then given an alternative room, after further confusion. The second room was musty and slightly dirty and unclean. I have now returned from the stay and I am covered in bed bug bites, owing to the room I stayed in, despite my best efforts to limit contact with the linen. I have over 50 bites on my body. Do not book this property, despite its alluring affordable price. "

"I’ve stayed here quite a few times over the years. The staff are consistently welcoming and friendly. In particular, Harman has always been very helpful, polite and professional during check in and out. Also there’s plenty of parking and the fresh milk vending machine is a great addition! "
