For those planning to explore the wider Wye Valley and surrounding countryside, staying just on the outskirts of the village centre, perhaps along roads leading out towards Symonds Yat or Ross-on-Wye, can offer a good balance. It's a great time for food enthusiasts, as local produce such as apples and ciders are abundant. Families might enjoy visiting during the autumn half-term for a relaxed break before the winter.

While summer (July and August) brings the warmest weather, it's also the busiest time, so popular attractions can be crowded.
