"Very interesting historical museum hotel. The hotel is well maintained for its age, felt like going back in time a bit. Our group was impressed by how well-kept and clean it is, everything was sparkling clean."
"The views from the ocean view are amazing. Beautiful location too. Rooms are older and quite dated yet very clean and a great balcony. We’d stay again for sure. "
"Cozy and comfortable apartment in a fantastic location. Just steps away from a supermarket, great restaurants, and stunning ocean views. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay!"
"Friendly staff and great location—close to local restaurants and easy to access. Parking is either street or hotel (first come, first served). Rooms lack complimentary water or hot beverages. Breakfast is average with limited options."

"We loved staying at the Aqua Natura Bay in Porto Moniz. The infinity pool has an spectacular view of the North side of the island. Rooms were clean, beds and pillow were comfy. Delicious breakfast included. The only thing I would like to point out is the parking limitation. However, they offered to pay for parking outside the hotel property. This property is right across from the aquarium and one of the natural pools. I am definitely planning to stay here next time I visit the Northwest side of Madeira."
"A hotel with beautiful view and wonderful service! All the staff were very friendly and the service was simply top-notch. The hotel restaurant has a stunning sea view and offers exellent food, highly recommend. Huge thank you to all the staff members in Quinta Do Furao!"
"We had such a lovely stay at Casa Os Manos — it felt calm, welcoming, and friendly. Nathan was the perfect host: kind, thoughtful, and always there when we needed anything (even emergency coffee and a bottle opener!).
His hiking tips were spot on — PR9 was stunning — and it was so nice to come back to a super comfy bed, a powerful shower, and even a surprise room upgrade. We loved playing pool, listening to Sam Fender, and just soaking in the good vibes.
The location is ideal for exploring the island, and the house has everything you need to feel right at home— and yes, we’ll forgive the Manchester City scarf 😅.
There’s something really peaceful about the place — rural, quaint, and like it’s been looked after with care and intention.
Thanks again Nathan — we truly had the best time. We will be recommending to all friends and family!"
Where can I find the best nightlife in Northern Madeira?
Northern Madeira is a stunning region known for its breathtaking landscapes and charming villages, but it also has a delightful selection of nightlife options that cater to a variety of tastes.
In the town of Funchal, although technically on the southern side, many visitors will find the most vibrant nightlife options just a short trip away. The Old Town, known as Zona Velha, is particularly popular for its trendy bars and restaurants, many of which have outdoor seating, allowing you to soak in the warm Madeira evenings.
Moving north, the seaside village of São Vicente offers a more laid-back atmosphere with local taverns where you can enjoy a glass of Madeira wine while listening to traditional music. It's ideal for those looking for a quieter night, surrounded by stunning ocean views.
For a taste of local culture mixed with nightlife, the small town of Ponta Delgada hosts occasional music events and social gatherings, giving you a chance to mingle with locals and experience the island's vibrant community spirit.
If you're seeking something more energetic, head to the nearby town of Machico, which boasts a few lively bars and clubs, especially during the summer months when the atmosphere is particularly festive.
