A very good stay and location is superb...

Posted 20-Oct-2016
Pros: The staff, accommodation and most of all the breakfast 😊
Cons: The room service 👎🏼
Location: It is situated in a very good location, 5-10 mins walk to town Centre and it was so close to the metro arena.
Hotel is very nice, we had a great stay, breakfast is very very nice, receptionist are so welcoming and helpful. Staff are very nice, but the only let down was the room service. I went to the bar at 9:45 pm to order a margarita pizza and cheesy nachos to be delivered to our room. So the gentleman behind the bar told me that it will take about half an hour, then I rang up after an hour about our order as it's still not there. Then a guy answered and said that they're a bit behind and if we still wanted to go ahead with our order? Since me and my husband are both hungry we said yes, after another 15 mins, the food arrive. To my dismay, pizza was burned and the cheesy nachos is also burned and there's no soured cream on it just a bit of salsa covered with cheese :( I mean for £9.95 of a pizza, you won't expect it to be served burnt. That's the only let down.

Excellent choice of hotel in Newcastle. Close to shops and pubs. Excellent cooked buffet breakfast in the morning for £8 if you pay when you arrive.

Comfortable beds

Posted 30-Aug-2016
Beds extremely comfortable, excellent free wifi. Was great to have the option of a bath or shower. One of the reception staff didn't know that you could pay with cash and seemed a bit confused but the other receptionist (think his name was Jake) was more than helpful, called us over and dealt checked us on very professionally and had no issue with us paying cash which it has stated we could do when we booked. An apology or something along the lines of, 'I'll just hand you over to my colleague" would have been all that was needed if the other receptionist was unsure, rather than just leaving us in the lurch and not telling us anything before the other receptionist called us over. However, all in all, great value, great night's sleep and we would definitely stay again.

Waste of money

Posted 30-Aug-2016
As soon as we arrived the male at reception at 2:15pm we were told our room wasn't ready. we were couting on checking in at 2pm as we had a wedding at 3 so we needed to get changed and ready. when we asked about parking explained where the parking was (about 10minute walk and really expensive considering its a shabby car wash. we did not feel comfortable leaving the car there but it was our only option because we rushed) and told us that we would have to bring out luggage all the way with us because of the lack of room availability. I was pretty upset since my wife is heavily pregnant and that meant she would have to help me carry our stuff. our room was basic with no mini bar or drinking water availability. when we arrived at night we realised they had given us a room next to the service lift that runs all night and next to a machine that would make a lot of noise for about 20minutes every hour. which meant 2 sleepless nights. To get any sort of privacy you have to make the room dark as there isnt a thin curtain and the lights in the room are not very good. im sure money could have been well spent in a different location. as it is close to centre it is more like a ibiza hotel with loud drunk people coming at all times of the night. not worth it at all.
