We stayed at the Metropolitan whilst attending a Rugby World Cup Match at St James's Park. Only 30 min from the City Centre with frequent trains. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms modern and well equipped.

Used as an overnight stop for a family of 3 with a teenager. Room was comfortable and spacious with "proper" beds for all ( no fold out or sofa bed) a good sized bathroom, convenient for a drink ( obviously!) Breakfast was excellent and plentiful- cooked breakfast made to order. Staff very helpful and keen to please. Easy stroll down to the seafront/ harbour in Amble. Pub was not noisy even though it was a Saturday night. Would happily use again and recommend.

Modern, well furnished and clean rooms. Great location for local shops, cafes and restaurants and 10 minutes walk to West Jesmond metro station. Great value for money too.

We used the hotel as a base whilst I underwent some tests and procedures at the Royal Victoria infirmary. The staff could not have been more helpful and all in all the quality of our stay was exceptional.
The bedrooms are understated but well-equipped. Our room was spacious and incorporated a substantial ensuite bathroom (possibly made bigger by disability provision). The hotel offers free Wi-Fi this was always up and running.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful. Very quiet hotel, right next to the castle. Everything was beautifully decorated, would definitely recommend!

Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was okay - the full English I felt was a bit small for what I paid but other hot options looked pretty good - would consider that next time and the continental breakfast was good. Staff were lovely.

We only stayed 1 night for an open day at the nearby university but couldn’t fault them and if our son gets into this chosen uni we will definitely be using this hotel to stay for visits. The staff were very friendly and accommodating
