Dirty and poor communication
First, the property owner refused to give us details about how to check in until after 6:30 pm the day we were arriving. (It turns out the prior renters were extremely late leaving the property, and so when we got there at 7:30 pm there was somebody cleaning up, which was not completed.) Second, the front door lock of the building was broken and so there was no security. We were told the flat was on the 2d floor but it was on the 4th floor. Walk-up. Third, when we finally got up there, the place was filthy. I have pictures. The worst was that the sheets had blood and semen stains. There were dirty towels hanging up behind the bathroom door. The shower was rusted and no water pressure, and the drain backed up.
We told all this to the property owner who said she'd have new sheets and towels provided but she never did, for the duration of our stay. I asked her more than once and she did not respond after the first time. The refrigerator also had old food and was horribly dirty.
I have pictures of all this - the blood and semen stains meant that we had to sleep without the covers. We used only two towels the entire five days because we had no other clean towels. The couch was filthy so we couldn't sit on it. Bottom line - we did everything we could to stay out of the flat until we absolutely had to go back to sleep. Miserable. I took only one shower in four days because of the filth.
I want my money back. I want you to remove the property from VRBO. Disgusted.
