We stayed for two weeks and were very impressed. The swimming pools are huge and always sun beds available. Also has sun beds and shades on the beach at no extra cost. The main restaurant buffet was excellent and good value. The hotel is situated in a small seaside town with a small harbour and several tavernas.
Great little family run hotel. Only 12 or so rooms of varying sizes - we had a family suite comprising 2 rooms, a living room with 2 sofa beds containing a small kitchen area, and a bedroom for 2 people. Rooms of a good size, although no aircon in the main bedroom which was an occasional problem when temperatuire was 30 and still 25 at night. The owners could not have been more helpful - they always seemd to be available, and even brought us breakfast on the first day when we had missed the official timing. Good sized pool and pool area. No wifi in bedrooms but only in a limited area at and very close to Reception.
Positives: The hotel looks very nice, rooms are cleaned daily, change of towels and linen every 3rd day. Bed very comfortable, good quality linen and pillows. Did not use the pool, but it looked very clean and good sized. Tavronitis is not very interesting place but is excellent starting point for exploring the western part of the island, being close to the best beaches, as well as to the city of Chania and the nice little villages. Many good restaurants and other places nearby (like Kolymbari). Very close to the crowded and noisy Platanias and Agia Marina, if you are interested.
Negatives: breakfast was very abundant but could be more varied and more domestic food (it was 80% supermarket); pity our bedroom on the ground floor did not have a window (not counting the tiny rear one that had to have curtains all the time, facing the hotel passage) and did not have sea view, but only the pool view from our beautiful balcony. But still, we had and upgrade from a studio to 1 bedroom app. The bathroom is clean but the shower curtain is tedious and of no use since the bathroom floor gets wet and flooded every time.
Absolute positives: highly recommended for the extremely kind and helpful staff, especially Antonia, who made us feel very welcome and special and made our stay in Crete unforgettable, so we didn’t care much for the negatives. Thank you again!
