We used the hotel as a base whilst I underwent some tests and procedures at the Royal Victoria infirmary. The staff could not have been more helpful and all in all the quality of our stay was exceptional. The bedrooms are understated but well-equipped. Our room was spacious and incorporated a substantial ensuite bathroom (possibly made bigger by disability provision). The hotel offers free Wi-Fi this was always up and running. We experienced room service and dining in the restaurant and...

Loved it thery inprest with how well the out side was looked after mad thery we'll come wood definitely stay again

A very impressive and imposing hotel that's clearly benefited from a multi-million pound revamp in the last year. I was offered a voucher each day for a free pint in return for foregoing daily housekeeping services and I thought this was a nice perk. Breakfasts are of the self-service variety and generally everything was in good supply, although all the croissants had gone occasionally. All in all an excellent base for a stay in Tynemouth, a gem of the North East.

Very clean hotel, nice beds, spacious rooms and bathroom. Nice breakfast. Couldn’t fault the stay at all

We got engaged the night we stayed here and Thomas and Andy made our special night even better than we thought it could be

The central location was fantastic as well as being able to leave your bags after checkout.

Stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment with my husband and mother-in-law. Came by train and this place was literally a few minutes away from the main train station. We were very pleased to be able to check-in early and also very pleased with the apartment, which was well-equipped, very spacious, modern and comfortable. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The staff on the front desk were pleasant. Fully equipped kitchen where we...

Friendly and helpful restaurant staff Particularly Gaynor

Great place and pleasant staff. Would and will stay again.

For one, budget conscious person travelling alone it's always great to find a single room allowing a saving. At The Royal Whitley Bay right in mid-July, in the middle of the seafront promenade area, I paid only £35 a night incl a lovely, large breakfast each day with fresh fruit, juice, coffee, yoghurt, cereals and a gorgeous, very large full English in a nice little breakfast room. Wow. I know the little single room I stayed in from many years ago - old, unrenovated, the same as it was & good...

Very warm welcome from reception, room spotlessly clean and comfortable. Amazing poached eggs for breakfast and Paul was great at reception fir Checkout! Looking forward to coming back! Thanks

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Millie, the friendly house cat. David was very welcoming, and the house & grounds were beautiful. The room and bathroom were both spotless, I've never been to a cleaner hotel. Everything you could need was provided, and we had a quiet sleep. If you have dry skin issues (dermatitis, eczema etc.) like myself, you might wish to bring your own toiletries as the ones provided were quite drying.

The room was lovely and clean, service very good. Breakfast was ok. The restaurant food was lovely
