Visit the Jersey War Tunnels and discover what life would have been like on the island when it was invaded by the Nazis in the Second World War. This includes the German Underground Hospital, otherwise known as Hohlgangsanlage 8, which was built by German forces between 1941 and 1945, and became a museum after the war ended.
A little further afield is Mont Orgueil, an imposing castle that dates back at least 700 years and was, for many years, the island's only military defence. Also nearby is Elizabeth Castle, a 16th century defence that was built on a tidal island to help defend the island from French invasions and played an important role in the the English Civil War in the mid-17th century and the Battle of Jersey in the late-18th century.
