The Crooklands, BW Signature Collection

The Crooklands, BW Signature Collection

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was clean fresh and inviting & the staff were all lovely. We ate lunch there (both had Cumberland sausage & onion roll which along with the chips were piping hot and a side salad. For dinner my husband had gammon - again piping hot. I went for a smoked salmon & prawn salad (asked for no Marie Rose Sauce). I wondered if it would be quite small - it was a large portion & a fab salad after dinner coffee was good & again piping hot. Despite being in the countryside the hotel served about 65 covers Excellent hotel"

The Lakeland Kendal Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by BW

The Lakeland Kendal Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by BW

10/10 Excellent
"Its an older hotel - although updated a certain amount (Bathroom looked fairly new) - good location closed to the town centre, decent sized rooms, staff were great, and the breakfast was very good! No on-site parking, but there are several close by car parks (they've got the information at reception). Pro tip - The Sandes Avenue carpark a few mins walk away is only £1.50 for the entire day (If you buy a ticket after the charging period ends at 6pm it'll be good for the entire next day) Wifi worked, but was a bit patchy in our room - they could probably do with a few more access points. Overall we had a good stay, and I'd come back again - especially if they add some more Wifi access points so its a strong signal everywhere!"

"Stayed for 2 nights the hotel was clean the staff where great and the beds comfortable, only real issue was the quilts on the bed they are way to heavy so not the best sleep as way to warm , but the hotel is perfect for a couple of nights very central with the station just across the rouad"

"Excellent stay for three nights. Superb room. Cleaning and Reception check out staff exceptional. Let down by breakfast service which was problem each day. Forgotten orders. Quality food but unacceptably slow service each day up to an hour delay for main course. Upon serving, most dishes were cold and upon complaint plates obviously just put under microwave or heater when promised a fresh one. Eggs Benedict was excellent and hot for two out the three days."

Stonecross Manor Hotel

8/10 Good
"The room was clean, but in need of some TLC. The lights did work, when the receptionist was told she came fiddled with the light bulbs, eventually they came back on. Once turned off they would not come back on. Very much felt that was an issue the hotel knew about, but had not fixed. The staff at breakfast were not welcoming. When the breakfast came the bacon and black pudding were not fully cooked. The sausage was poor quality and very peppery. Rather disappointing. Will not be staying again."
