The Townhouse is perfectly located in Melrose's charming centre. It is well-appointed and does a great job catering for guests needs and wishes. It has a buzz of activity that works really well, and the staff are unfailingly friendly, helpful and on hand. We'll certainly be back in Melrose and Townhouse will be our intended place to stay. Thanks folks.

The food was excellent; we only stayed for a weekend so we didn't manage to sample the entire menu. The staff were professional and friendly.

This is a traditional hotel close to the centre of the town. Very comfortable and the staff were excellent, The only problem was access to the car park at the rear of the hotel was by a number of flights of stairs and as I am in the over 80 group I found this rather a nuisance. Younger generation will find it less of a problem.

Booked this at the last minute on impulse as an absolute bargain offer. I didn't have particularly high expectations given the low price & some less than happy reviews. How wrong could I be!! The hotel is centrally located with beautiful grounds overlooking the river. Everything about our stay here was lovely. The room was dated however spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room overlooking the gardens and river. Everything you could wish for was on the menu, There's loads of character in this hotel. All staff very friendly and helpful too. We will definately be back!

Great stay cook service good food good bar and bar food. But watch when u book and pay they offer a full cooked breakfast for £10 more and u don't get it! U have been warned.

Wonderful relaxing stay in gorgeous historic surroundings...

A great weekend away for my husbands birthday. The hotel is easy to find. Staff, through all levels, were very professional, courteous and made you feel very welcome. Our room was spotless but next time we stay we will probably pay extra so we can try one of the suites. Food was to a very high standard. All in all many thanks to the hotel and staff for making our weekend away an enjoyable one. Christine and Martin

From arrival to departure we were met with really attentive staff throughout the hotel who provided professional service within an informal friendly manner. From reception to dining room, breakfast and cleaning staff there was an informal relaxed atmosphere with a professional delivery. This was the backdrop we wished for to enable us to have a relaxing break in a lovely part of the country away from the stresses of everyday life.

It was absolutely lovely! Very close to Edinburgh Waverley and some lovely restaurants. Calton Hill is right next door as well. The front desk staff was very helpful, and the room was plush and clean. We wish we could stay longer!

Am amazing hotel staff absolutely fantastic. Room was large as was the bathroom. Fantastic view of the garden. Free tea and coffee all day. Breakfast was good. Bus stop just outside the hotel to get into Edinburgh city centre.

I have never stayed at this hotel before and I will 100% be returning. Super clean, fantastic finish and the bed sheets were so soft! Couldn’t fault a single thing. We stayed on a Saturday night (on floor 9) and you could hear a tiny bit of noise from local streets but did not disturb our sleep one bit. All staff were super friendly too. Fab location too. Thank you so much.

Great hotel perfect location staff really attentive and so polite. Breakfast was lovely great choice and freshly prepared. The bed was so comfortable and nice pillows too. I would really recommend a stay here.
