Very pleasant surroundings and excellent food. Lovely quiet country retreat.

Fantastic stopover in rear cottage, quiet and comfy, even though the pub is busy!! The reason the pub is busy it's got top food and good ale, the Owner and staff are top notch there were Bikers and cyclists stopping as it's in a perfect location. WILL Definitely stay again! Look in village for Droopy Dandilion a lovely little shop for one off items!

This is a traditional hotel close to the centre of the town. Very comfortable and the staff were excellent, The only problem was access to the car park at the rear of the hotel was by a number of flights of stairs and as I am in the over 80 group I found this rather a nuisance. Younger generation will find it less of a problem.

Great stay cook service good food good bar and bar food. But watch when u book and pay they offer a full cooked breakfast for £10 more and u don't get it! U have been warned.

Booked this at the last minute on impulse as an absolute bargain offer. I didn't have particularly high expectations given the low price & some less than happy reviews. How wrong could I be!! It was amazing!!! I work in the travel trade & stay in many hotels. I can honestly say that I have rarely enjoyed a hotel as much as the Peebles Hydro. From arrival to departure we were met with really attentive staff throughout the hotel who provided professional service within an informal friendly manner. From reception to dining room, breakfast and cleaning staff there was an informal relaxed atmosphere with a professional delivery. This was the backdrop we wished for to enable us to have a relaxing break in a lovely part of the country away from the stresses of everyday life.

We stayed here to celebrate my husbands special birthday. From the moment we drove up and saw the impressive ship we knew we were in for a special treat. Everything about this place is incredible. The staff were so helpful and very welcoming. You helped make my husbands birthday treat a very special memory. Thank you !

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We stayed in the Townhouse Suite which was larger than our London flat! By far the best value for money we have ever got from a hotel room. Staff were excellent and very helpful. The onsite "honesty shop" was also very well stocked with a range of food and drinks with a lovely lounge area to enjoy them in. We have already booked this hotel again for our next trip to Edinburgh.

An excellent hotel with character, class, and great service. I can understand why The Balmoral Hotel is such a famous place to stay when visiting Edinburgh.

I can't fault the hotel, the staff, the bar, the food or the price. Staff were young but knowledgable. Food was simple but delicious. The bar had inventive twists on drinks (Negronis with port replacing Martini Rosso? A hot chocolate with Remy Martin?) If you're looking for a hotel that is bang in the centre of Edinburgh, look elsewhere. This is in the beautiful area of Stockbridge, 20min walk or 5 min bus ride from Princes St. We'll stay here again. Loved it.

I have never stayed at this hotel before and I will 100% be returning. Super clean, fantastic finish and the bed sheets were so soft! Couldn’t fault a single thing. We stayed on a Saturday night (on floor 9) and you could hear a tiny bit of noise from local streets but did not disturb our sleep one bit. All staff were super friendly too. Fab location too. Thank you so much.

Loved our stay here. Apartment was incredible, we could stay in it all day! Our favourite location in Edinburgh for bars restaurants etc. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Cant wait to return.

Wonderful stylish hotel just opened so very clean and fresh. My room was an apartment with kitchenette (I don't think there is a dining room), high quality spacious bathroom and very high speed WiFi. Staff pleasant, location central and good bar/cafe area. I wanted to stay longer and will definitely stay next time.
