Lion Quays Hotel & Spa

"Overall ok stay here, the hotel itself is nice and the grounds are lovely with the water. The room I stayed in could do with a refresh, particularly in the bathroom, cracked sink for example. Frustratingly the WiFi was shocking, barely managed to get an email sent. Breakfast was nice though and staff all lovely."

"Bit noisy at times as right on the road and parking was tricky. It was Monday curry night so no menu choice if dining in. Meal was nice but a bit hot for our palette. Breakfast was excellent staff helpful and overall very good stay."

"This is a small hotel but is everything you want for a stay in Shrewsbury for the value. They also serve really tasty food at a very good price again value for money. Would definitely go back."
The Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa

"All in all a lovely hotel with clean room, although no phone to reach out to reception. Staff very helpful and informative. Spa good but having to pay £10 as a resident was a bit of a liberty. Biggest disappointments were the main restaurant being closed off and instead we had to use the inferior small bar area to which all tables had been reserved and the main menu which didn’t have much of a choice with a high price ! Overall though I would stay again but maybe eat out within the town of Llangollen"
Lion and Pheasant Hotel

"We loved the look and the atmosphere of the hotel and the easy access to surrounding amenities - Shrewsbury is a lovely and charming place. Because it is basically an expanded Georgian town house, there are many stairs and the rooms are on the small side (the stairs were a bit of a trial - we are both in our 70s) and the car parking was tight and often full - there is a car park almost across the road, but it had recently changed hands and we could not use it because the pay station had "No Internet". We used another council car park a little walk away which was easy to use and relatively cheap. Breakfast was good and plentiful and the bar was good. Lovely, helpful staff."

"Last min booking, found as i was looking for a nice 5 star hotel within a reasonable distance from home. The property was nice enough, and indeed it has a plaque on the wall from AA showing 5 starts, but its not."

"We had an overnight stay..the staff were very friendly and helpful.The room was lovely,a nice size.Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was also a good size,shower was good.Not overally powerful but okay. I would certainly stay again"
