Good location. A series of characterful old buildings with lots of dark wood, some low ceilings, uneven floors and rickety stairs. Good range for breakfast, with excellent poached eggs. Pleasant staff who were holding the place together despite appearing to be rather under-staffed to cope with the number of guests. The heating wasn't on while we stayed, which meant one really cold morning, and nothing was done about it despite us mentioning this to the front desk. And the room wasn't ready on arrival even though we were more than an hour after check-in time. Despite this, we'd stay again, and hope that they manage to hire more staff and return the hotel to the levels of service commensurate with its history.
