Good value at this special rate and lovely staff great service but we were disappointed that breakfast was served downstairs in the dark and dull Sands Restaurant. One of the best relaxing experiences of this hotel is breakfast upstairs with views of St Andrews and the coast.

"Excellent Value"
Right on the waterfront "The Waterfront" was a delightful surprise. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was quiet, spotless, LARGE and very comfortable. There was a well stocked complementary tray, plenty of mirrors and sockets and a well stocked bathroom. The restaurant was excellent with a very varied menu. The food was delicious and again the staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel was about 10 minutes drive from St. Andrews by taxi. I would recommend this hotel highly and would certainly return myself.

Excellent hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Superb food. Room was spotless though slightly needing a wee touch up in some areas. Not a thing that I feel the need to complain about. Would definitely stay there again. Nice views over the Forth and a fine central location to go exploring from. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, highly recommended.

"Great hotel, not as noisy as you would expect "
I booked this hotel because I was going to the nightclub next door and a taxi home is more expensive than the room. The room was clean and modern but don't expect great views. I went back to the room around 2 while there were still people queuing to get in and could only hear a slight murmur. Then i returned to the room as the nightclub was closing there was hardly any noise. Mostly due to clubbers being directed out the back of the club and away from my room. I was disappointed at having to pay for parking when it said on this website there was free parking. Not only that but the maximum stay is only 3 hours!! This meant I had to put a ticket on my car 3 times. There are long stay carparks 5-10 minutes walk away but I wanted my car next to the hotel. The reception staff were nice enough...once you found them. When I first arrived there was nobody around reception so I had to go into the restaurant looking for someone to check me in. I'll probably stay there again if going for a night out in Dunfermline. Good value for money and saved me waiting in the cold for a taxi

    Castles Galore

Nearby lie the medieval ruins of St. Andrews Castle. This intriguing castle has been a fortress, palace and state prison in its time, complete with sixteenth century siege mine and the formidable ‘bottle dungeon’ hewn out of the rock - rumoured to have imprisoned John Knox at one time.

The ruins of Ravenscraig Castle are also well worth a look, before making your way to Kirkcaldy Museum and Art Gallery, a real cultural hub which is home to works by William McTaggat, Scottish Colourist S. J. Peploe and Kirkcaldy artist Jack Vettriano.
