The house at Cotehele was constructed in medieval times, with other parts being added during the Tudor period. The Tudor portion of the property is one of the least altered buildings from this time in the entirety of Britain, making it a unique site.

Outside the home, guests are treated to a finely kept and diversely populated garden, containing a dovecote, pond and extensive orchards. The garden leads down to an idyllic quayside, where an old barge sits.
The Cotehele House and Gardens are blessed with an impressive array of facilities, designed to make your visit that much easier and more enjoyable. In addition to the two restaurants, there's also a tearoom and shops selling everything from plants to second hand books. There's also an art gallery at Cotehele.
There are a number of picnic tables dotted around the property. The play areas and baby-changing facilities mean the house is suitable for travelling families. There's also ample car parking.
Fortunately for visitors, there's no shortage of excellent hotels in Cornwall. Smeaton Farm B&B sets the standard, providing excellent accommodation in a peaceful, rural setting. Located in Saltash, near the River Tamar, visiting the Cotehele House and Gardens couldn't be easier.
