"Disappointed with the food, it was ok but a bit undercooked, some items missing, and service was a bit slow. The food used to be amazing here, the ingredients still seemed high quality but the preparation and taste wasn't as good as it used to be. The main disappointment was that the rules of the spa have changed and we were unaware we had to book the spa and could only attend at certain times which wouldn't have suited anyway. So we did not get to go to the spa as planned. In previous years this place has been great, hope it gets back there!"

"Overall experience fab! My problem is solely with Hotels.com as when we arrived after booking a room for two adults and a child and then got to our room to see one double bed I popped and asked the reception about it and the (I think) manager of maybe the place or restaurant had a look for me and explained once booked through hotels.com they just pick a room and unfortunately our family rooms are all booked out and have no put up beds. With this we thought, look we are here one night, let’s just make it work,so we did. We met some friends downstairs in the restaurant at 5 for a meal and my goodness the food!! I had Katsu chicken and it was to die for. So so tasty! Followed by a chocolate brownie, wow! The food was top notch. Hubby had a bacon and cheese burger and our daughter had the kids nuggets and they also both enjoyed very much! We then went up to our room and our view was just stunning, overlooking the sea and both in daylight and at night was beautiful! We got up in the morning and there was a HUGE range of breakfast items laid out (continental) from toast, croissants, pastries, yoghurts, a good variety of cereals and so on with hot and cold drinks. My husband had the Scottish breakfast and I had eggs Benedict, again - stunning food! Would definitely come back to stay but would book direct! Thank you all"

"Our room was spotlessly clean and had a quirky record player which was fun. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and genuinely attentive. We ate dinner which was delicious and nicely presented. Breakfast was continental style with lots of choice. All round an excellent stay. Would come back. "

"This house was a fabulous place to stay for a large family gathering - comfortable beds, lots of space, a beautiful garden and loads of local activities; Loch Lomond only about 15 minutes drive away, a short walk down to a ‘beach’ on the Firth of Clyde, lovely views and interesting wildlife. A great pub in Cardross (with good gluten free options)The kitchen in the house could have been a little better equipped for a large house. A few slight issues were sorted with good communication from the host. "

"Great location, perfect for our long weekend visiting family over Easter. Micheal was a fantastic host, everything was very easy, check-in and check-out process was very smooth. Rooms were a good size, very clean and comfortable. We’ll 100% be back later in the year! "
