Berkshire Attractions

When it comes to attractions in Berkshire, you're genuinely spoilt for choice. Windsor Castle was built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror after the Norman invasion of England and is the largest inhabited castle in the world. Rebuilt by Charles II, renovated by George III and George IV, thousands of visitors flock to Windsor castle every year to admire Baroque interiors and Gothic furnishings.

Basildon Park in Lower Basildon is just 3km from Goring On Thames. Built in 1776, the Georgian mansion was rescued by Lord and lady Iliffe in the 1950s. Now owned by the National Trust and a Grade I listed building it, has been lovingly restored with 18th century fixtures and fittings that are typical of the period. The Palladian style mansion with its fine fabrics and furniture makes for an entertaining and rewarding day out.

Elsewhere, Legoland theme park and themed hotel is just four miles away from the M4 and three miles away from Windsor Castle. Legoland has more than 50 interactive rides and exhibitions and is perfect for children up to 12 years old. With Wet and Wild water rides, pirate trails and building workshops set amongst 150 acres of stunning parkland, Legoland is a fun filled family day out.
