"One night stay"
Booked a twin room for one night with my son, as needed to be in Reading the next day. It was close to relatives in Newbury who we wanted to see for a meal, and also close to Reading. Very pleasantly suprised by the place. Interior does feel dated, but that didnt bother me. Lovely location, set back from road with ample parking. Room was clean and a generous size, and the ensuite much bigger than many new build premier inn style hotels. The windows opened which was a real bonus, as i cant stand stuffy hot hotel rooms. The only slight annoying thing about the room was the phone rang randomly 3 times, once at 5.30am. There was no one on the other end. Apparently there has been a fault with the line that is causing this and the staff thought it had been fixed by engineers, so will now investigate further and apologised for the issue. Breakfast was the standard hotel affair. Self service cooked or continental. Would advise going elsewhere if you are after a tasty upmarket start to your day. Otherwise it's perfectly adequate for what it is. All in all, would definitely stay again and would recommend to others. I slept soundly!

"Convenient if you rely on public transport"
I arrived at 1.15 pm after traveling from Pennsylvania, USA. My room was ready although the official check in time is 2pm. Receptionist and all the staff were very friendly. Only downside is that the hotel holds music events on some Fridays which can be noisy (I was in room 17 over the restaurant where two music events were held during my stay). The music ceases at 11.59pm. This was the only negative during my stay. I would stay there again.
