"Kath was a welcoming and friendly host, communications were timely, clear, helpful and had the personal touch. The accomodation was so clean and EVERYTHING had been thought of... it was certainly a home from home. The beds were incredibly comfortable. My children were very happy with their rooms and comfy beds too. The place was perfectly situated for a balmy summer evening stroll along the riverside, very pleasant. Would recommend highly and would definitely stay again! Thank you 😊"

"The room was very clean and roomy. I loved the tile shower and how hot the water was. The front desk staff was very helpful and cheerful. As were the people that cleaned up everyones breakfast dishes. The breakfast itself was really great with a selection of eggs, meat, mushrooms (that I loved) waffles, yougurt fruit and breads. I looked forward to it each morning. No idea about the parking since I took a train to Bath. It's also incredibly well situated to the city center."

"I really enjoyed my stay at The Gainsborough. You honestly couldn't ask for a better location. It's just a block from the square and an easy 10 min walk from Bath Spa train station, so getting around the city was effortless. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The one small downside of being so central was some noise, though that was probably due to where my room was located. If you're a light sleeper, it may be worth requesting a quieter room. The spa was the highlight. It was absolutely wonderful and a perfect way to unwind after exploring Bath. Overall, a lovely stay, and I'd happily come back."

"The hotel and our room were a 10 on a 10 scale. The staff unfortunately seemed just plain tired. No welcome smiles- neither at the reception nor the dining. Maps of the town were impossible to read. The breakfast servers stood around talking. Never came by to check on us or refill our coffees. There was no concierge and many of the staff were new and seemed to know nothing about the town. Truly- a very surprisingly unfriendly experience. But loved the hotel!"

"Great hotel in a handy location...easy flat walk into the city. Everything is fresh and clean and the breakfast has a great choice. The only thing that lets it down is the extortionate cost for parking...way beyond anywhere else in Bath! We ended up using JustPark and paying £16 for over 24hrs parking rather than the £50 at the hotel!"
