"A gorgeous hotel in a fantastic location for exploring the new forest. Despite being in a very central location, the hotel itself is very quiet and a perfect place to relax - cocktails during happy hour in the garden was a real highlight! Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed - the only complaint would be that, being an older building, you can hear every creaky floorboard etc. and we did experience a lot of noise from the room above which would not be ideal for light sleepers. Breakfast in the morning was well stocked/serviced and all very tasty. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again on our next trip to the area."

"Had a fantastic time at the Durley Dean Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the absolute highlight was having access to the excellent spa and gym facilities—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The staff were incredibly welcoming and the service was spot on from start to finish. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!"

"I chose a budget room which was £144 per night. I stayed two nights over the Bank Holiday heatwave . There was a brick wall outside my window and only two of the windows would open a maximum of 3 inches. The bathroom window did not open and the fan was not working. It was wretched in the heat. You have to have the light on to see even in daylight. I was given a very basic fan . I asked to change my room the next day. It was inhumane to expect anyone to be in a room with no ventilation in that heat. I was told I could only go to the same room above mine with the same brick wall. I was offered a Dyson fan, taken from someone else’s room, but although it said it blew cold air there was none. The fire alarm went off 3 times the first night and at 4.40 in the morning the whole hotel was evacuated for an hour. It was a fault in the alarm system, a false alarm. I thought the swimming pool was lovely for the children . The breakfast was poor,if you didn’t eat cooked things. The cereal choices were mimimalist . Lunch was £16 a panini which wasn’t even that good, and the service was slow, considering they were ready made. A glass of wine was an eye watering £9 No I would not recommend this very tired hotel although the staff appeared to do their best . My sink was not cleaned and my toiletries not replaced after my first night. So I had to ask for these Very disappointed indeed."

"Never stay here in the summer! A lovely hotel with a great spa but sadly the staff were not interested. Our room (6) was boiling hot, far hotter than 2 other hotel rooms we have slept in over this May 26 heatwave. When we raised this at check in and explained that we would not be able to sleep in the room we were given a spare fan that simply moved the hot are around. The whole upper corridor of the hotel is oppressive and our room was swealtering all night. No one checked on us or offered to help and when we handed in our key this morning no one bothered to ask if we’d had a good stay. Sadly we won’t be back."
