"Good location and good service"

"I might have misread the blurb, was expecting a kitchenette and a full size fridge so was surprised to find just a kettle and mini fridge. My room was one of the tiny ones which was expected, room was clean as was shower & toilet. Bed was a single but comfy, slept like a baby although the 14 miles walked helped! Nice pub next door with quiz on Thursdays! Overall good value, and help only a phone call away. Good location on a quiet road midway between Windermere and Bowness"

"Very friendly staff and the hotel had a pool and sauna. The pool was being used at the time we were there as a training venue for children and we just used the sauna and jacuzzi. The room was very clean with lovely fresh towels with tea coffee making equipment. We never had anything to eat in the hotel but had a quiet drink in the lounge at the end of the evening, overall a nice hotel"

"Really great base for exploring the Lake District.lovely quiet area with a really pleasant atmosphere. We had a 2 bed lodge which was clean and well kitted out with everything you need. If I’m being picky maybe could do with a refresh but no complaints from me. Great communication by SMS and a really pleasant break.👍😃"

"This was a beautiful place to stay, stunning location in Grasmere with walks/ hikes on the doorstep. Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great too. Totally recommend 😁"

"The room was decent size. The mattress needs changing immediately as it made my spine bend and I am not heavy!! Breakfast was very good with good vegetarian choices. Well inside the main road so it was quiet."

"Great hotel, great location and lovely staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Bus 591, 555 stops just outside the hotel and can take you anywhere whether it’s Windermere, Grasmere, Keswick all very easy to commute. Some great restaurants around. Staff extremely friendly at the reception. Breakfast top notch - 10/10 for Manuel who takes orders at the brekkie area , always smiling. Would highly recommend. "

"Had a great stay, was weary about it being dog friendly as wife and i have allergies and no pets of our own. We informed hotel and they could not have been any more helpful, the room we had was excellent. "

"We were thrilled with our choice of Hillthwaite. It has a central location near to both Windermere and Bowness yet high enough on a hill to have views of Lake Windermere from rooms and public spaces. The hotel is beautifully organized with several public lounges: sun room, library, bar/lounge and restaurant–all of which feature Lake views, as well as outdoor terraces.
