Lovely hotel, would definitely recommend. Breakfast was something to look forward to every morning my only comments would be on the cost of water for non inclusive guests and the lack of tea and coffee making facilities out of normal hours.
My husband and I have been to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote on several occasions but usually on a medium sized budget. This time is 6 years after our last visit as we've been going to Dubai since our family moved there. We were aware any hotel had a lot to live up to as we've stayed in some of the most luxurious hotels out there. We chose the 5* Princess Yaiza which cost a little more but was definitely worth it. We had a fantastic complaint free holiday. The food was excellent every day with lots of choice. The suite was very comfortable with lots of extra touches. In the bathroom there was everything you need including toothbrushes and paste! You literally wanted for nothing. We would recommend paying the little extra to stay at the P Y.

It was towards the end of the peak season, so I didnt expect a full compliment of staff, but I was surprised at how little some of the facilities were serviced in some areas, such as the chill out bar, which was very nice, but took forever to get served. It is the best place to watch the sun set though.
Everything else was as I would expect from a 5 star place. Lots of facilities, large room and good quality of reception service. The overall complex is a proper maze though and will take a few days to get your bearings, but this is far from a deal breaker. I'd go back. If you're up for excursions or activities, I recommend you go to TouristTicket shop in the marina, they're much better than those in the hotel and the lady in there will bend over backwards to help you out.
Hotel has only 14 rooms all excellently maintained and cleaned daily including new sheets etc and towels. Towels were also changed in the evening if used. Small staff, very discreet, and capable. Excellent meals with choice of 4 starters, 3 mains and 4 desserts including cheese. Wine and drinks reasonably priced, clearly displayed on the wine list. Excellent local wines also available. Recommended. Gardens and pool area well maintained although the jacuzzi was not filled, not a problem for us. Clean beach towels laid out each morning on the numerous sunbeds. Drinks served around the pool during the day. Although a bus could be taken to either the local capital town or beach area and tours could be arranged by the hotel, a car proved much more practical for sight-seeing, again arranged by the hotel.
