It’s a good thing that this was literally just a place to rest my head for a few hours.
The hotel is very tired, everything needs painted or replaced. Stained carpets, chipped doorways and skirtings, bed wedged into a corner, old fashioned sliding door into the bathroom, the room just felt old, tired and unloved. If it was just the room it could be forgiven, however the corridors, restaurant, reception are all the same.
Reception service was okay, however I was disappointed by service at breakfast. I took a table only to be told to move as it was “being set for Christmas dinner”. That’s the case, why was it one of the six tables set for breakfast. After I finished eating, I’d literally swallowed my last mouthful of tea when I was asked to move to reception because “we need the table for breakfast”.
Not somewhere I would be happy staying for any other reason than just 4 hours sleep, and even then I thought it was overpriced because of the state of it.
Disappointing!
