"Property was clean, the hosts were welcoming, friendly and thoughtful. It was exactly as advertised, quiet and conveniently located for the places and facilities we wanted to visit. Local pub was just a short walk and served good food. The property was easy to find given the scafolding currently around the main house, but may be more tricky to locate when this is removed. The bathroom door was squeaking meaning there was no way one of us could visit the bathroom in the night without waking the other, but we both loved our stay and are appreciative of Tim and Mia sharing their home with us."

"We loved our mini-break at this beautiful cottage, with excellent communication from the owner and wine and cookies to welcome us. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay.The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and the smart tv and wifi were welcome for our boys and movie nights. We also visited the local pub, The Forresters, and had some delicious meals. It was a perfect distance from Longleat and we also visited Salisbury.The cottage is full of original and quaint features and I would definitely recommend a stay. Just be aware of the steep stairs up to the attic room, which are in fitting with the age and style of the property, but may prove tricky for someone with physical limitations. It was perfect for our teenage son, however, and he loved having his own floor!Just to note; I read in a previous review, that traffic was annoying, yet we found it perfectly peaceful and could hardly hear any passing cars. The beds were of a good size too. We would definitely return."

"Had a fabulous time here . Really enjoyed the spa and pool. Lovely hotel with some fun quirky decor & friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely and Dinner was delicious although on the pricey side! Would definitely recommend & return."

"We wanted a pet friendly hotel and boy, did we get it. Every member of staff treated our little pup like royalty. In the room there was a comfortable bed for her with a towel and 2 blankets along with some bowls but the piece de resistance was a the little bag containing poop bags, treats and a ball. We had a very satisfied little dog in the room but when she saw the outside greenery she was absolutely thrilled as were we. Unlike a lot of hotels where they claim to be dog friendly but then have a load of no go areas, this hotel really was. We arrived before booking in time so had the flat iron steak and frites for lunch followed by the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Banana waffle. All was beautifully cooked and the waitress was extremely careful to ensure that the way I was asking for my steak to be cooked as she was worried it would be compromised. We found the room to be comfortable and loved the Dyson fan. There was plenty of tea, coffee, fresh milk(!) and a little fridge. We had the breakfast in the morning. 10 out of 10 for the fresh fruit, a decent range of cereals and various other items on the Continental range. My husband had the Classic English Breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed with its 2 sausage, 2 bacon, beans, tomato, poached egg, black pudding and toast whilst I had a very generous portion of smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. If there was any criticism, it would be the toast was thin and dry. Everything else was great. "

"What a wonderful place!On reading the last review that was posted not long before we were about to stay at the Old Milking Parlour, I was a tad apprehensive as to what we might find but there was absolutely no need to be .This is a lovely property that is exactly as described. The photos are a true representation and it was an absolute delight to stay here.The owners have done a fabulous job of renovating the Milking Parlour with lovely high quality and tasteful fixtures and fittings.Please, please, please if you are thinking of staying here, ignore the review dated 30th June 2025. I felt devastated on behalf of the owners as it bore no relation to the premises whatsoever. There was a vase of flowers on the table along with half a dozen lovely fresh farm eggs. There was a lovely cosy, welcoming vibe and it was spotless. The sheets were crisp and white and the towels fluffy and plentiful. The beds were lovey and firm and both the showers were really good. The access instructions were clear and easy to follow. The farm itself was spotless and despite us expecting there to be the usual countryside smells, there weren't any at all.It's in a great location just a couple of miles outside Frome. I wholeheartedly recommend The Old Milking Parlour and would definitely stay here again. We absolutely loved it."
