Excellent value for money

Pros: Convenient and friendly. Good value and would stay again.
Cons: The shower was on the slow side.
It was a very convenient location for us for an overnight stay. The room facilities were better than I was expecting and the breakfast was very good. It was excellent value for money.

Old Bell Inn, Warminster

Posted 26-Jan-2016 on Hotels

Only one (major) thing wrong

Posted 30-Dec-2015
Pros: Almost everything. Lovely building, good room, decent breakfast, excellent staff.
Cons: The pair of large and very loud extractor fans in the courtyard outside our room which stayed on all night and made it very difficult to get to sleep
Location: Quiet market town, very nice. Not a great deal going on, but there's a nice park, good unusual shops, and quite a few places to eat.
Everything good about this, except the pair of large and very loud extractor fans in the courtyard outside our room which stayed on all night and made it very difficult to get to sleep. A real disadvantage that brought down what would have been a near-perfect stay. Once we had turned in and realised the problem there was no-one was available to contact about this, except an emergency number which we were reluctant to call as this wasn't, strictly speaking, an emergency. If you're the type who can sleep through anything this place will do for you, and those rooms not overlooking the courtyard are probably perfect, but if you need quiet for sleep think twice about the Old Bell.

Excellent value for money

Stayed here for 2 nights on business and was firstly given a very warm welcome by the staff (even although it was 23:30 when I arrived). Staff were very friendly and helpful and the cleanliness of the hotel was second to none. Great choice for breakfast and the food quality was excellent. The only thing I would mention that would require attention is the low water pressure from the shower. I would have no problems in booking to stay here again.

Old and New Bell Inn

Posted 12-Dec-2015 on Hotels
The Old Bell has been a Coaching Inn for about 400 years and in places it showed, A bit dated, no lifts, steep narrow stairs but the room we had was very clean and very large with cable tv and abundant tea and coffee making facilities. The Full English or Conternental Breakfast was very good and had plenty of choices. We also had an evening meal that was Superb. The staff was very helpful, friendly and efficient, as a 1 night stay it was good.
