poor

Noisy, breakfast was poor, didn't have half the menu. Short staffed so long waits. Shame as the room itself was lovely.

Entertainment

Posted 03-Sep-2017
On arrival we were informed that there would be a Dj night until 2.00 am and it is the busiest pub in town. Our room overlooked the courtyard where the clientele congregated. It would have been nice to know that this was the case before booking. Or at the least the time entertainment could go on until. Our rest was effected

Worst night sleep ever!

Posted 30-Aug-2017
Pros: The breakfast and is a good distance from the longleat safari park
Cons: Lots!
Location: Longleat Safari was definately a must! Not much else to do around the hotel
Me and my partner paid for a room here as the next day we were setting off to longleat safari park. We arrived and check in was fine, went out for some food and a few drinks and come back to the hotel which was boiling all windows were open! Myself and my partner couldn't sleep due to the heat then the karaoke downstairs started couldn't not sleep from the racket, my partner went downstairs as he was fed up. when the karaoke stopped at 12:30 we managed to sleep, which the bed didn't help either as wasn't the most comfortable. In the morning there was a delivery of dinks at 8am which woke me up from all the banging and clanging and shouting from the delivery guys. I then couldn't go back to sleep so decided to wake up and go for a shower the shower head was broke and also trickled out the water so had to hold the shower head to my hair to wash out the shampoo. Then we went down for breakfast to escape the ever so boiling room! The service was slow considering we were the only people there for breakfast. The staff were stood around talking so then other people had to come to the bar to get service. I would say the breakfast was good although the juice didn't get topped up so you couldn't have more then one glass. Let's just say me and my partner were happy to escape the room after that! Would not recommend.

Noisy till 2am

Posted 30-Aug-2017
Room good. Staff good. Food good. BUT noise from disco till 2am. Would not stay again on Friday or Saturday night. Pity the management don't give some thought to their hotel customers.

We stayed for august bank holiday, it was boiling hot and there was no breeze in the room at all. They had put a fan in the room which somehow didn't move any air about! Very dated & only saw one person working at any one time.

Close to longleat

Posted 21-Aug-2017
Ok bed comfortable. It's an old coaching inn needs some tender loving care. It's a popular pub so smell of beer and cigarettes prevalent. Also music on Friday and Saturday nights until 2pm. Not conducive to a peaceful nights sleep

Poor standard hotel.

Posted 21-Aug-2017
Hotel bars dirty/ uncared for. Food dreadful. Loud music with people shouting and swearing in courtyard below our room. Friendly staff but seemed under staffed. The noisy music nights should be stopped if they want to keep renting the suites

Requires a complete makeover

Posted 31-Jul-2017
Pros: The lovely old building , the friendly staff and the top quality breakfast !
Cons: I think that I have already made that clear
Location: It was a one night stay for an event in the area, so I can't really! comment.
Bedroom poor, bed base stained, lighting poor,. Bathroom needed re_tiling,shower water dribbled out and the toilet flush was poor, only good thing was the hospitality tray. Staff we met were lovely and the Breakfast top quality. The building deserves some loving care and attention ! I don't call this review an insult it is just my honest opinion
