"No did not get a beach view ,although room was clean, staff are very helpful outer side badly needing painting and smartning up, no food at this hotel u have to go next door to the Carleton hotel. Fire alarm went off late thursday night but it was ok maybe a bug in the sensory thing in the rooms? Noisy people next door to me doors banging loud conversation so not much sleep had!"

"Such a brilliant hotel. Staff were wonderful and couldn’t be more helpful. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and it was superb. Will definitely be visiting again!"

"A charming , if not slightly tired, hotel. In a beautiful spot, perfect as a base to further explore the area. From the moment I checked in, until the moment I checked out, all of the staff were extremely friendly, helpful , courteous and professional. The bed was very comfortable and the linen fresh and clean. Powerful hot shower. Plenty of tea & coffee. The breakfast buffet was excellent. A very enjoyable stay. I would love to see the proper receive the TLC it deserves."

"Swapped out sea view room, sadly, but hotel had an old world charm and the hottest swimming pool I've ever been in. That's not necessarily a good thing unless you're someone that doesn't want to swim and then you're fine. Staff were warm and welcoming, lots of flash cars on the driveway. Really liked the look of the rooms by the pool. Breakfast was a bit busy and staff a little frazzled but pleasant. The wallpaper in the bar was amazing. Wonderful location, the higher the floor the better - if you're put on the first floor (like us) and not given the room you're booked, then you're clearly not an A-lister... :-). Room was wonderful."

"We have stayed in the Crown several times so were happy to re visit whilst touring the New Forest in ideal location. Helpful, cheerful staff made us welcome . Nothing to much trouble We declined an evening meal in hotel as we were meeting friends in town but breakfast was excellent wide choice available. The down side of our stay is that the hotel really now seemed "tired" appearance. Window frames paint flaking off the decor in our room (203) was "dated' in need of a refurb. Mould in bathroom / shower, mirror corroded etc For a De luxe room maybe guest bathrobes would be a welcome addition All in all we enjoyed our stay & would probably visit again and submit this review as our personal observations only In a competitive hotel industry attention to detail for the future is paramount "

"The hotel was comfy, clean and close to local amenities. Staff were friendly and happy to help with any queries. Breakfast was lovely with a nice selection of food. Room was cosy and everything needed to make the stay enjoyable e.g. fast wifi, hairdryer, iron etc. Would stay here again :-)"

"A lovely hotel and very accommodating. They were happy to store my bike for me overnight and looked after my bag before and after check in. A great selection on the tea tray and a lovely touch with the radio in the room playing classical music when I arrived. It was a relaxing stay"
