Beautiful quaint little pub with gorgeous rooms. I felt extremely comfortable, safe and relaxed. Would absolutely stay again.

New owners same high standards
Upon arrival. met new owners who were just as friendly as previous owner hotel was at the high standard as before. But I think the breakfast was of better quality

Stayed here to go to a wedding reception nearby. Everything we needed was available. Room clean and tidy and the bed was amazing, so comfortable! Breakfast available from 0930 in pub below, good prices and tasty. Well worth the money.

Does everything you need
Nice and easy check-in with the young lady who showed me to my room. Decent food and beer options there and a speedy service. The rooms are qell maintained and quieter than you think it will be above a pub. Stayed a couple of times and will be likely to stay again. Also a bonus of allocated hotel guest parking. Useful when its busy with guests

Excellent stay
We had a fantastic stay, check in was easy, the room was well laid out, in good decor and repair. The food available from the bar was excellent quality and value for money. We were concerned that staying above a pub would be noisy, but we didn’t need to worry, it was very quiet, occasionally someone would laugh loud, but not enough to wake anyone. We had an amazing stay and would be more than happy to return.

Convenient overnight stop
Satnav led us astray but very pleased with our stay once we had arrived. Room very clean and comfortable. Disappointed that restaurant was not open on Sunday evening but we found one nearby that was.

Second stay at the Tawny Owl. Very helpful and friendly staff. Just would like a new shower curtain please. Perfect place to stay to explore the area on foot and close to shopping and heritage railway.

Beautiful hotel near Swindon town
The staffs are friendly, i was late check in but call them in advance and they arranged the key for me. The room is spacious, toilet is clean.

Couldn't have been a better visit!
Excellent experience!! Mel was fantastic, and got us situated immediately! She went above and beyond to ensure our fellow guests were also taken care of! Kudos to the staff for the hospitality shown during our entire 2 day trip!

Absolutely disgusting und dirty. Bed was made up but sheets were not changed from previous guest! Linen was covered with lots of male body hair as was the bath tub. Not even rinsed. The lowest of standards of decency, not to speak of any standard regarding hospitality. Don‘t understand the positive reviews, clearly no recommendation!

When showed to my room it was explained that the main pub door didn't lock so it was only the room door that would be secured even though there was another key which didn't work, not great if you are the type to feel vulnerable. Also breakfast is served between 0930 - 1130, which is no good for anybody that has a day job. Room was pleasant as were the staff when I had dinner in the bar / restaurant. Food was also very nice. I am an early riser so was in bed by 2100, was woken at just gone 2300 due to all the punters leaving the pub being very noisy, not directly the pubs fault but never the less disturbed my sleep! Woke went to the gym and on my return planned to get myself ready for work. 0530 and I turn the shower on, only to be greeted by cold water... This persisted until 0630 when I gave up and went to work without! I wasn't able to have a cuppa in the room either due to the mug being dirty as per pic... I was unable to fully checkout due to the pub reception being closed at 0630 so I had to just leave my key in the door. Ok for a one night stay if you have ear plugs and are not worried about breakfast.

Found the Tawny Owl easily, very lovely pub/ hotel. Staff were very friendly, the food was amazing. Lovely bedroom all I would say could do with a new mattress as a bit lumpy. But overall a brilliant experience

The staff are very friendly, a love atmosphere in the pub, its a very big pub with a lovely garden. The bedroom was roomy with a long mirror had a lovely good night sleep
