"Standard room was in fact tiny, with a v small double bed, which was also damn uncomfortable. Rubbish mattress. No bulb in bedside lamp. The kids twin room was a good size. Breakfast was a bit slow getting going, and they were pretty forgetful bringing the toast we requested. Cooked breakfast looked good. Coffee average."

"I have stayed at the Croft a number of times with work and have always been surprised when I'm told its a 3 star hotel. The look and feel of the hotel from when you arrive to when you go to your room feels more like a 4 star. The rooms are always comfortable and clean with great bathrooms. I have always found staff to be helpful and friendly from check-in, to the bar and restaurant staff. Nothing has ever been too much trouble. The food is also amazing and that in itself and always gets 5...

"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."
