9.4/10 Exceptional! (224 reviews)
My husband, dog and I stayed for one night on a bed-and-breakfast booking. We chose Glaramara because it advertises itself as dog friendly, our experience was anything but. On check-in, we were informed that the only area where dogs are permitted at breakfast had just two tables, both of which were already booked. Although the hotel had emailed beforehand to say space was limited, we did not expect that this would mean being unable to access the breakfast included in our stay. We tried repeatedly to find a solution, suggesting breakfast in our room, eating outside, attending earlier or later than other guests, or using space in the reception area. Every suggestion was refused, and we were advised to leave our dog alone in the bedroom. As responsible dog owners, this was not something we were prepared to do. The most frustrating part was not the lack of availability, but the complete lack of flexibility. Even if we had managed to reserve one of the two dog-friendly tables, another guest travelling with a dog would inevitably have found themselves in exactly the same position. For a hotel that markets itself as dog friendly, having capacity for only two dog-owning parties at breakfast seems wholly inadequate. As a result, we were unable to have the breakfast we had paid for. We raised our concerns with the hotel directly and submitted a formal complaint. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging the shortcomings, the hotel took no accountability,
