Fantastic stay. Great location. Staff wonderful. Great breakfast Highly recommend

If you are looking for a safe secure location close to all major amenities. This place is ideal very clean and the staff are very friendly indeed, parking right outside so you don't have to walk far to get to your vehicle. Will definitely be booking another stay in the near future.

Fantastic, authentic castle with such history and higgledy piggledy corridors. It was our anniversary and we were welcomed with an anniversary card which was a nice touch. The staff were excellent. We only had breakfast which was delicious and staff were efficient and friendly. The food in the library looked good. We had a courtyard room and were very happy with it. If you're expecting modern, corporate decor it might not be for you but we liked it and so nice to stay in a castle with character....

Everything was great, even the weather. Friendly hosts, good breakfast, great view from the room, parking.

The staff and ambience of the hotel were lovely and we were sad that we couldn't stay longer.

Although I was asked to leave after I made a comment on a few things that were wrong i e wash basin loose light pull switch not working and no disabled bays the rest was spot on lovely bed shower TVs etc . had a nice stay I was there for a funeral and didn't appreciate being asked to leave as I was quite happy with location and the room and price

Modern clean room with a good view. Maintenance poor - room cold due to poor double glazing (very breezy). Shower in bathroom needed repairing - water squirting out of pipe rather than the head. No maid service - bed not made or towels replaced. No fridge in room.

We had a lovely stay ! Room 301 was Beautiful with a fabulous view. Bed was lovely and comfortable, service at breakfast was spot on we will definitely stay again .

I was brought up in Sunderland, so stayed here a number of times. It was looking a bit tired, so we loved the new refurbishment, with nautical and seaside theme (especially coming from this area it was quite nostalgic). Stayed in the Cinnamon Exec room which was very well positioned overlooking the sea. Liked the quirky Roker Hotel newspaper (gave all hotel info needed). Breakfast was lovely (had the eggs benedict). Plenty of food choices here and a popular bar. Staff nice and friendly with good...

Friendly and attentive staff . Nice atmosphere ..would come back again

Clean functional room, staff were very helpful and breakfast was great with fresh porridge cooked 👏

A very impressive and imposing hotel that's clearly benefited from a multi-million pound revamp in the last year. I was offered a voucher each day for a free pint in return for foregoing daily housekeeping services and I thought this was a nice perk. Breakfasts are of the self-service variety and generally everything was in good supply, although all the croissants had gone occasionally. All in all an excellent base for a stay in Tynemouth, a gem of the North East.

Better than expected. Don’t write off these hotels. Way nicer than many upmarket properties out there.

The rooms are excellent. Lovely and clean. Food in the restaurant is nothing short of amazing. I can recommend the steak and kidney pudding. Best I have ever tasted

Lovely bedrooms, beautifully decorated, very serene.

Fantastic guest house,friendly owners,nice atmosphere.

A great property with leisure facilities and parking close to Durham (<10 minute drive or park and ride opposite carriageway) Room was lovely but surprised no air conditioning or fridge and it did get a little hot overnight
