"We loved our stay at Codley Gate Cottage. It is well equipped as a home away from home. We especially love the big kitchen for home cooked meals and the wood burning stove that helps to take the chill off, at the end of a day well spent in the beautiful Northumberland countryside!"

"The property is set in a stunning setting, opposite Blencathra, in a really quiet location. Unfortunately, however, the cottage has a rodent problem. Each morning we'd find mouse droppings underneath the fridge, on window ledges and by the sink. On leaving we also discovered mice had chewed through one of our bags."

"Came up for the Kielder Marathon weekend. Cosy cottage which had everything we needed. Comfy bed, powerful hot shower and good kitchen facilities. "

"This is a really lovely and immaculately maintained property, and one that provides and excellent base for exploring the Lake District. It is very well equipped and comfortable, and also nice and quiet - just the tonic if on a break. We enjoyed cooking and relaxing and also exploring the local area, which was new to us. "The accommodation offered value for money in a great location within easy driving distance of Keswick. If we were to be critical we would say that the stairs are tricky if even for the most able bodied particularly at night time. The bed is a small double and extremely soft therefore if sharing with another person you both end up in the middle. The low ceiling is once again tricky particularly if you are tall and despite many customer comments about the shower it does not stay in place and...

"Lovely comfortable cottage with a fabulous view from the lounge balcony with afternoon and evening sun. No personal touch or welcome gift. Front yard full of weeds and plants blocking light into two snug windows. Would have been nice to use that space for a seat outside in the morning sunshine as the kitchen is perfectly placed through the front door. Locals lovely. Lots of pubs and shops. Great places to explore in the area."

"Lovely quite country location, off-street parking & all the comforts of home. Near train station if public transport is required, however noise from trains was not an issue. 'The stables is ideal for a couple with small kitchen if wanting to cook."

"The house was located in Askham where we were going to a wedding. It was super clean and so convenient. Near a pub where other friends were staying and just around the corner from the town store. Very private but central to everything. We would definitely stay there again. Was absolutely perfect!"
