"Amazing hotel great staff"

"The parking was easy. We were greeted by Jacob at check in who was friendly. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfy and a fan had been supplied as there was a heatwave and it was 23 degrees at night. The view from room number 6 was of trees and we couldn't really hear the M6.The downside was the bathroom, it was extremely tired and in need of an update, however the shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was excellent and the staff in the pub were friendly. Location just off the M6 was brilliant. There was a Lidl's and Tesco express 20 minute walk or 5 minutes drive away."

"The hotel is in the final stages ( or we was told it was) of a refit. We have stayed before and there have been major changes. The front outside entrance area does need attention IMHO is not to welcoming. The rooms were spotless the staff are amazing. They were serving breakfast this time and is was great value. Good quality product's. Will defo be staying again."

Lancashire Manor Hotel

"We didn’t use the amenities as we just needed a bed for the night and quick check-in and getaway. Location was great for us, close to a relative we were picking up before heading out to Manchester airport. We enjoyed chatting in (rusty) German with the friendly lady on the front desk. Forgot her name unfortunately. Would definitely use the hotel again and will recommend to other visitors coming to the area from overseas."

"Viktor was welcoming & so very helpful. The location is walking distance to everything fun, like the World of Glass Museum & the Transportation museum. And not far from lovely strolls along the canal. Stellar place to stay. The room had a microwave, an electric kettle and a clothes stand to hang my clothes. Also one large chest of drawers as well as a small chest of drawers and a lovely mirror. Well recommended!"

Mercure Haydock Hotel

"I stayed here on a week day for a trip to Haydock Races and came away fairly disappointed. I wasn’t expecting luxury given the price point, but it also wasn’t especially cheap compared to other budget options nearby, so I had hoped for a better standard. The first impression of the room wasn’t great. There were several dark hairs on the bed, a dead bug in the bed, and a ripped pillowcase, which immediately made the room feel unclean and poorly maintained. The curtains were also full of holes, so the light came straight through early in the morning. Noise was another issue. The rooms are definitely not soundproof and you can hear people constantly opening and closing doors in the corridor. On top of that, the cleaners were hoovering in the room next door at around 8am, so there was no chance of a lie in. The breakfast room itself was pleasant enough and the food was alright, although certainly not the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. I didn’t enjoy the coffee, and the two breakfast staff members seemed quite chaotic during service. Overall, it was okay for the price but I would suggest more attention to cleanliness."
