The Evenlode Rooms at Firehouse Oxford

8/10 Good
"Easy parking. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location suited us and although it is close to a busy road we weren't bothered by any noise. The room rate was very reasonable. The only slight downside for us was the food - it just wasn't our thing - but all-in all we were happy with the accommodation - we were meeting friends in Oxford the next day and were just looking for a clean and comfortable bed for the night within reach of Oxford that didn't cost an arm and a leg."

"A beautiful cottage in an idyllic village, with an amazingly short walk to the splendid Blenheim Palace. The parking requires creative planning (the RingGo parking app helps), but the calm and peace of the cottage is wonderful. Highly recommend."

Beautiful Grade II Oxford Home, 5 Floors|Sleeps 14

10/10 Excellent
"Communication with Sophia was very good and the house very convenient for all that Woodstock has to offer.I was initially apprehensive to book this property as generally I wouldn't consider anything that doesn't show external photos (I like to know where I'm going and as a rule not showing the obvious tends to suggest something to hide) but I'm please I ignored my own instinct as location is perfect.A shared entrance with a very quiet flower shop to the front is a little odd and the layout of the communal spaces best described as quirky but cleanliness, quality of furnishings, and attention to detail were very good.We had no problem with parking our three cars nearby after unloading directly outside and instruction for access were very clear.Bedrooms and bathrooms all excellent. The downsides for us as a family that like to eat and socialise together was the lack of a formal dinning area suitable for the number of guests as the kitchen table seats 7 at best, stool seating at a slightly remote counter or the kitchen island meant we could still share the space but this is not somewhere to enjoy a leisurely Sunday lunch. The living room in the basement is also compromised due to small space and wouldn't seat a full house. If you want to stay in a lovely character property in an excellent location to explore the many Pubs and Restaurants close by this is a perfect base but if as a large family group you like to eat and sit communally 16 High Street would be a compromise."
