"The Kings Arm was in such a good location in Woodstock within walking distance of all the shops and beautiful Blenheim Palace. It is nice to stay in such a historic pub and hotel, but as with many aged facilities there are some trade offs. The bed was very comfortable, but the room could get incredibly hot. The room is also quite tight for 2 travelers. The small shower needed servicing as the metal soap, shampoo holder was totally hanging off one side and also had poor drainage, once leaking on the floor. Unfortunately on one of the days we were there we also woke up to no running water and there still was no water when we returned near bedtime. I did request some sort of compensation for inconvenience but none was offered. Also there is a bad odor in the upstairs corridor from years of frying fish downstairs or something and allergens were quite pronounced here.Parking is on the street and you must pay for it. We were directed to a “free “ car park but ended up getting a parking ticket there because it was changed to pay parking some months ago and is poorly signed as such. However, the breakfasts were very good, offering both continental and cooked to order options and are eaten in a lovely atrium. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to our needs. Despite the hiccups stated we very much enjoyed our stay."

"A beautiful cottage in an idyllic village, with an amazingly short walk to the splendid Blenheim Palace. The parking requires creative planning (the RingGo parking app helps), but the calm and peace of the cottage is wonderful. Highly recommend."

"Room was very clean and nice, we stayed in the 2 bedroom suite but there are no doors for the 2 different rooms, walls are soo thin that you can hear everything happening on the hallway outside the room and the constant slamming of the door that connects from the restaurant to the rooms was extremely loud, woke us up constantly in the early morning so bring ear plugs. Location is great."

"This quirky old hotel was wonderful. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel’s age means slanting floors and delightful artwork surround you. Don’t worry about the lift and luggage, the staff is only too willing to lug your stuff! Location to Blenheim, pubs, cute town, bus route is perfect. I stayed for five days and had a new breakfast every morning. Bath products are plentiful and nice. Also, drinks available if pubs aren’t your thing. Would stay again."

"Our experience was excellent. We were welcomed by staff, very friendly. The room was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cereals, yogurts, juices and fruit before we opted for the Duchess full English breakfast. We also ate at the pub for our evening meal. The burgers were delicious. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel. "

"The best thing about this house was the location. It's a great place for a long weekend, a stones throw from Blenheim palace where you can just walk down the lane into the grounds where there are beautiful walks. I personally wouldn't want to stay there for much longer because it's quite small,. The stairs are very steep and the upstairs floor is very wobbly. So if you're a a bit wobbly.on your feet take care! The kitchen is well equipped (no teapot) and the living room, chair and sofa are comfortable for 2 adults. Communication with Stay Cotswold reps was excellent and as I said excellent location. Woodstock is a lovely town with lots of lots of great pubs and restaurants and shops."
