Couldn't fault hotel.

Posted 29-Sep-2015
Pros: Position, dogs welcome and staff friendly. Room was perfect for the view if the sea.
Cons: Nothing. Didn't eat in hotel so can't comment on food.
Location: The beach did it for us. Cafe nearby with views of sea and food good but a little pricey. Had lovely afternoon in Peasholm Park. Some great walks near
We was made more than welcome at this hotel.we took our little dog and he was welcomed too.happy with room and sea views. Will be going back again.

overnight resting place

Posted 11-Sep-2015
Pros: location and spacious room . good breakfast
Cons: lift service.
Location: fantastic position on top of cliff. views of the sea .
pleasantly suprised , room on 4th floor was spacious and clean (except carpet didnt seem to have been vacumed). bathroom newly tiled and good towels ( again floor needed sweeping) new excellent curtains spoilt by pelmet hanging off hooks , surely this should have been spotted by cleaners!!! good breakfast in spacious dining room with friendly staff. would certainly go again . a good budget hotel in a great location.

Good position overlooking the sea but ....

Posted 31-Aug-2015
Pros: Great position and good bar and communal areas.
Cons: Customer service and room cleanliness.
The reception staff when we arrived were almost rude when we asked for a car park. There was one free but we were informed that it needed to be booked with them for 6 pounds. I offered to pay But was refused as they said it was booked. We had to go driving around Scarborough for a park. At 10pm the reserved park was not in use as it was at 8am the next morning. The bathroom was particularly unclean, grout etc had black in many places ,shower screen did not look as though it had ever been cleaned. The beds were hard. The communal areas downstairs plus breakfast and room were adequate. Overall not good value for the money we paid. If you require a car park pls reserve it beforehand !

Shabby and outdated

Posted 28-Aug-2015
Pros: The food was very nice.
Cons: he room we stayed in needed a good overall.
Location: Close to the beach and amenities
On arrival we were ignored by the receptionist who was on the phone. We paid for a Superior Room with Seaview and were given a room with hardly anyroom and a double bed they swapped the room for us but it was no bigger and still only had a double bed. The bathroom had no antislip mat in the bath we had to request one when my husband slipped as he was getting out of the shower. The grouting between the floor tiles was nearly none existant there was paid chopped off the bath and the cuboards were not much better. The wardrobe door had no catch on it so wouldn't close. The tea tray had dried milk on it and the windows were filthy. Overall a very disappointing stay. We have stayed at the hotel before and always been satisfied but not this time.

Paid for an upgrade total waste of money. Room was really tatty, most of the windows didn't even open. Staff weren't very helpful. Only good thing about it was the breakfast

Great family hotel

Posted 22-Aug-2015
Pros: Simple, honest & friendly. location.
Cons: Room decoration refurb. Bed was fine.
Location: 5 or 10 minutes walk away from just about everything. Including the skatepark & bmx track !
Great family hotel. Simple & honest. Friendly, helpful Yorkshire staff ! Ace cliff-top location, central to everything. If you want car park space, book it in advance.

Walking distance from the sea

Pleasant hotel, would have loved a sea view instead of car park but we had booked late so couldn't complain. Quick, helpful check-in, good breakfast, room clean & adequate, would book there again.

not a happy bunny

Booked through Expedia, 1 night included breakfast for a double room for 2 On arriving for breakfast was told we hadn't paid for breakfast so had to pay another £14. Expedia and the Clifton don't correspond with one another, all options on the website included breakfast. Clifton blamed Expedia, Expedia blamed Clifton. One phone call could have sorted it but we had to go through the embarrassment. Avoid
