We stayed a few years ago and it has massively improved since then. We tried to ring to book a parking space but struggled to get an answer however there was space when we arrived. It is in a great location. We will definitely go back.

This hotel needs investment. It is old and tired. The position on the cliff top is amazing with amazing views. The reception staff were friendly and quite efficient. The bedroom was small and old fashioned although clean and the beds were comfortable. We had been to the open air theatre for the evening so this hotel was ideally placed to return to after the concert.

We had a very small room but it had a sea view and we were only using it for after a concert at the open air theatre. It’s brilliantly located for that. The staff were friendly and efficient. I’d stay in this hotel again.

Nice clean room, helpful staff and a convenient location. The only gripe really was I could have used a 2nd pillow as standard and the exterior of the hotel could do with some minor maintenance. Overall, a great value stay in a good location.

The reception staff at this property are amazing. So kind & helpful The only downside to the property is not being able to pay cash in an emergency. I was unfortunate to lose my cards during my stay so found it difficult but the staff were brilliant

A lovely light room with wonderful sea views from every window including the ensuite. There was a loose floorboard but otherwise the room was good. Liked having a pod coffee machine. Only one small lift with a gate which wasn't always closed after people used it. This made it difficult to use the lift and there was quite a queue after the concert.

We had the small twin room very clean , no views as windows were covered and wouldn’t open they were alarmed … and the air con unit was quite noisy it kept going on and off .when customers who had surging switched it on and off . It didn’t spoil the stay for us , but just for information. Staff were excellent location good parking good 10 /15 minute walk down to the front . Bus to south side …

Amazing welcome at reception, really lovely scent on arrival! The room was pretty warm but that's mainly because of the beautiful morning sun blazing away. The sea, castle and landscape views were absolutely stunning. Great conversation set up in the window for tea and surfer watching. Well worth paying for parking on busy days. Spotlessly clean housekeeping deserve a raise. ;)

Great location overlooking the beach. Very close to the open air theatre. About a 20 minute walk to a really good fish & chip shop (the Lifeboat) with eat in area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and tidy. Body and hair shower gel in the shower and little bottles of shampoo and conditioner and shower gel on side. Breakfast good with enough choice. Only downside was the parking. I had emailed to book parking but there wasn’t anything booked for me. I was given a permit to park on the road for the 3 hours of the day left and then to change the time at 9am the following morning for 3 hours that day. So while not ideal, it was acceptable and wouldn’t stop me staying there again. Overall a lovely experience.

This is a lovely hotel full of character. Yes it looks a little scruffy on the outside but the inside is good. Every member of staff was pleasant & helpful especially on the front desk for checking in & out. We arrived early & asked about a parking permit & the lovely lady not only sorted us a parking space but also let us have our room key even thought we were a few hours early 😊 Our room was clean & had everything we needed, the walls are thin as we could hear the people next door but we were only there for 1 night so it didn't bother us,the bed was comfortable. The bar area is nice & the buffet breakfast was good. We were there for a concert at the open air theater & the location of the hotel was spot on for this, just a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed our stay at the Clifton & would definitely do it again 😊
