Butterfly Lodge, historic converted cart house with rural country views

10/10 Excellent
"Great area for walks and stunning countryside. Friendly village pub and the local Co-Op is great (co-op pizza turned out to be good!). Everything I needed in the rental and delicious homemade bread as a welcome gift. Definitely not the rental or area if you have mobility issues as parking is up a short hill and there are stairs and a gravel path going to the door. Very comfortable rental, plenty of seating and great roads for running and cycling."

"Amazing holiday in one of the cottages.- Milking Parlour. Comfortable, spacious and great location if you are looking for a remote place, yet still close to a village. Hosts are also lovely and helpful. We loved our stay, thank you very much! Our recommendations are - change the electric shower as the pressure is absolutely terrible and for someone with long hair, it is almost impossible to wash the hair. - check the smell coming from under the sink- the radiator in the bathroom is noisy when the heating comes on, for a day we thought there is a washing machine above us, however it is most likely that your valves to the radiator are not being fitted correctly. Noise stops when the radiator is switched off."

"I stayed at the Victoria Inn as my midway stop on my C2C ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. The location was perfect and I was really well looked after by the owners. I had my dinner and breakfast at the Inn and both were great. I really enjoyed my burger from the Disco Burger Bar! The owners were able to offer me a secure location to store my bike so I would definitely recommend the Victoria Inn as a location to use on a cycling trip."
