"I stayed for 1 night. I have used many B & B's, so was a little apprehensive. However, all that apprehension was a waste of energy. The B & B was lovely and the staff very nice. I did not score 5 on all points due to a couple of very minor issues. I had a double room no. 24 on the third floor. Brathay Lodge
4.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (170)
"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

Character Cottage with fabulous mountain views in the North Lakes District
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (74)
"Fantastic location & views. Very basic which let it down. Not great when you travelled 4hrs on the road & not find any milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Lovely shower but all the mould let it down (even the fake plant was covered in mould). Tiny bath towels and no blind on window,Hole in fence has not been fixed but some broken chairs put in front which didn't take my dogs long to figure out & no outside light in garden so i had to use my phone torch to make sure they did not escape at night....
