"A perfect welcome to the perfect cottage located in the most beautiful spot. Everything I needed was there. The cottage was superb. Helen and Claire made me welcome and went above and beyond, recommending walks and providing me with everyhing to make the most of a short stay. I would highly recommend this cottage and location. A short walk into town, but in the country, surrounded by birdsong and views, with great walks in your door step."

"This was our first time staying here and it certainly won't be our last. The shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and has such a cosy and comfortable feel to it. The under floor heating kept it lovely and warm too despite the snow outside (which also made it super pretty). The outside space was so private and had a fantastic view over the fields and to the hills beyond. Our favourite thing was sitting out at night by the fire pit and relaxing, looking up at the stars. "Stayed here for work for 2 nights. Everything was, on the whole, good. Staff were mostly helpful, the restaurant was very nice with good food, the room was nice enough and comfortable. If I had to ask the hotel to do better on a few things it would be this: 1. The sinks sit on the table in the bathroom, and hard to clean behind, so it looks like the cleaners just don't bother. Desperately needs a deep clean. 2. Doors and windows in my room didn't lock properly. I did report it, but they were still like it when I left. 3. the WiFi is horrendous. I needed to work in my room, but just couldn't. It's better in communal areas, but still not great. If you need WiFi, you might want to look elsewhere. Being really fussy... conditioner would be good too! I forgot mine, and was abruptly told by reception that there is no conditioner onsite! There were lots of couples and families here too and all seemed to be having a jolly nice time. "

"The room was not especially clean. When you went into the en-suite there were cobwebs, and not even at the ceiling level but just above eye level. The heating was on full, there's two radiators in the room, I turned them both off, but the room was still boiling because there was a very large pipe connecting the radiators and it was effectively itself a giant radiator which couldn't be switched off. Why does the building's heating need to be on full at 3pm in March anyway? The four poster bed was squeaky as anything. Any time one of us moved in the night, the other woke up. I can't imagine how other residents would've appreciated us working through the Kama Sutra. The staff member who checked us in seemed soulless. We didn't have the brekkie but then we'd seen he Four In A Bed episode where almost everybody got the wrong order and half of them got egg shell in their food. On the plus side, the extractor fan was attached to our ceiling so not all bad."

"Hotel was just ok, but they had an open fire in the reception area, which basically smelled the whole of the hotel out, and our clothes still smell of it. Had to leave the bedroom window open all night to let fresh air in, even though my wife was cold. On the plus side I would definitely go back to Llangollen it was lovely, but would not stay at this hotel."

"This is an old castle so dont expect luxury. The room i was in was dared and lazy but the small nuce but very small. Gym was ok but dated Grounds were fantastic and good parking They had hot tubs but you have to book. Evenn meal was just ok but not alot of choice and expensive but the restaurant was not great to eat in. Breakfast was awfull and ants on my table. I did report this. Id not fo back "
