"Four star at best"
The good: Lovely view from the balcony. Lots of different places to sit around the pools. Nice hotel foyer. The bad: You can hear everything in the room next door, not just toilet flushes, running water etc but peoples conversations, coughing, electric toothbrushes etc. Many cracked and loose tiles around the external areas. Corridors leading to rooms are soulless and institutional- not what I expect for a five star hotel. Dated bedrooms and bathrooms. Food and drink in the hotel is expensive compared with other resorts in Spain and Canary islands.

"A lovely hotel close to beach, promenade & shops"
My partner and I spent 2 wonderful weeks at the Melia Salinas Hotel. A lovely 5-star hotel in Costa Teguise. We were looking forward to enjoy the Melia Salinas experience on our first visit to Lanzarote as part of our winter break. We had heard before about the Melia hotels but had not had an opportunity to enjoy their hospitality. At our arrival after a long journey from London, we were greeted warmly by a friendly face at the front office. After processing of our booking we were delighted to hear that the hotel was offering us an upgrade to one of their premium room. It was the best start to our holidays. The interior of the hotel resembled an art gallery with paintings and art objects displayed everywhere. Sumptuous gardens, hanging plants, palm trees and water falls inside at the centre of the building surprised our senses, particularly when you had the sky as rooftop. The overall effect made it impossible not to admire the design and structure in front of your eyes. Our room was on the 4th floor, overlooking one of the two pools and the ocean. The room was spacious, simple but tastefully decorated and had many of the amenities that we have come to expect from a good hotel, such as bathrobes, slippers, fridge and coffee facilities. The room was kept clean and tidy with towels and bed sheets changed frequently by our two dedicated and friendly hotel maids that we met during our stay. The room offered an intimate open-air balcony/terrace protected by a glass screen th

"Peaceful stay away from the crowds"
This quiet group of cottages is set in beautiful countryside, with easy road access to the rest of the island and great walking country nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made communication easy. The accommodation is comfortable and relaxing with plenty of space, including individual terraces with barbecues. Raquel's morning yoga in the wooden hall with an array of sounds was a real treat and she was welcoming to beginners.

"Good size apartment"
Apartment was a good size, although there were only 3 of us and the place sleeps 6 which would have been overcrowded. Tables only have four chairs, only four sun loungers and sofas wouldn't sit 6. Apartment states it is cleaned regularly but this only involved changing towels, no other cleaning was done, no extra toilet roll etc was provided. Worth asking for a pool / garden area that is in the sun. Ours was in shade 90% of the day (in summer would be better) but a little disappointing as other villas were empty and we could have had an outside area in the sun. We ended up sitting in the drive way! A starter kit of jam, butter, dry crisp bread, coffee etc was left which was great especially as we arrived late. Beds were very uncomfortable. Overall apartment was fine but nothing special.

"Nice apartments a bit out of town"
The Apartmentos Camel Spring are slightly out of the centre of Costa Teguise, at Bastian Playa. They're set off the main walkway (only by around 100 metres) and next to a couple of little Spanish restaurants. The Mamas & Papas one next door appears to cater exclusively to locals, since it has a kids' play area nearby. The rooms are typical Lanzarote : nicely decorated, with balconies (with overhead lights which aren't always standard). We're Costa Teguise veterans and this is one of the best apartments we've stayed at. Owner/manager is German and very friendly.

"Nice, small apartments. Good location."
Went the last week of June. Three 19 year old girls on a cheap holiday. The apartments were in a good location close to a Lidl and the beach. Our apartment had a good size kitchen and living room, bathroom and bedroom. Overall very clean and the staff were really nice. Things are being done up bit by bit, which meant we had a great oven and hob. The pool was really clean-especially when there were less people there. Only thing that was bad was the state of the umbrellas which mostly were broken, and the fact that they only took the rubbish from the apartments every 2 days. The restaurants on the beach part are all pretty mediocre, but the beach itself is really nice.

"Great 3* Hotel which exceeded expectations"
Well-managed hotel. Rooms and communal areas clean and tidy. Staff all friendly and helpful. Two-bedroom ground floor apartment with balcony was spacious and modern. Kitchen area well equipped with fridge. Shower (over bath) in need of upgrading. Powerful wall mounted hairdryer in bathroom. Towels are provided free of charge (changed regularly). No pool towels. Food is standard all-inclusive – nothing exceptional and even the fussiest of eaters should be able to find something to eat. Two main restaurants but they serve the same food. Can get busy and warm at times. There are no outside seating areas off the main restaurants (only off the pool side bar / snack bar). Everything is self-service incl. drinks and cutlery –can be hard work with children as you are constantly up and down. Choice of a quiet pool area and a livelier pool area, mainly occupied by families, music and activities all day. Inflatables allowed and there is a variety of pool depths. The pools are also lifeguarded. Animation team were brilliant – both fun and energetic. Evening entertainment was varied. Kids mini disco starts at 8.30pm which is great for those parents who don’t want to eat ridiculously early. Kids Club –some activities only available to Thomson clients. Crazy golf, outdoor play area, football and tennis courts all free to use. In-room safes are chargeable. Overall good value hotel and would recommend.
