"Good hotel, friendly staff, really enjoyable stay."
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hesperia, from the welcome glass of cava at check in right up to our reluctant departure. Our "standard" room was well proportioned with a small veranda. The bathroom was modern and well maintained. The "his and hers" washbasins were a nice touch. The shower was an over-bath type, but this was a "standard" room and for the price, I guess a separate shower would be too much to ask. The "double" bed was two singles pushed together but the single beds were in fact the size of small doubles and were very comfortable. The end result was a good night's sleep. Wonderful. On the subject of food, I can only comment on breakfast as we stayed B&B: A huge variety of dishes were available from full English to fresh fruit, peeled and sliced. There were cereals, yogurts, cooked meats, cheeses, salads, pancakes, pastries- I couldn't possibly list it all. The quality was good and even allergen and Gluten free diets were catered for. Staff were courteous, helpful and efficient. The only slight niggle was the tea: Why can you never get a decent cup of tea abroad?
I had a birthday during our stay. I didn't mention this but someone must have noticed from the information in my passport. On returning to our room in the afternoon, we found a bottle of cava on ice, a piece of cake with a candle and a happy birthday note from the hotel. What a lovely surprise! A wonderful gesture and a demonstration of the effort put in to make our stay memorable. Well done Hesperia.
