Shantara Resort Port Douglas - Adults Only Retreat

"Great direct access to the pool from our room. Five minute walk to the main high street and your choice of plenty of fabulous restaurants. Room was clean, but a little tired. Good facilities in the room, but more space had been given over to the kitchenette, than space for suitcases or anywhere to put your clothes - so we were unable to fully unpack our small suitcases. Reception team were very good - helpful with answering any questions and booking transfers for us, even before our arrival- thank you!"

"My search through Expedia was for self contained, disability friendly so I was disappointed I had not checked this on booking. Being able to hear noises from neighbors through the wall was uncomfortable. There was room in the unit for a small settee or another chair to make comfortable seating for two people which would have made for a nicer stay."

"This property is spacious and nicely located along the 4 Mile Beach, but it is not easily walkable to the town nor any restaurants nearby. The facilities/pools seemed like they could use a deep cleaning although our room seemed to be updated and clean. The restaurants on site are quite good."

"Reception staff on arrival and throughout my stay were 1st class. Location was excellent for the beach and short walk to shops and restaurants. Room was small but immaculately clean and ideal for a short 4 night break. If you're looking for 5 star, don't bother but as far as value for money goes, you won't beat this place. I would absolutely recommend if you're looking for clean, basic accommodation with wonderful attentive and courteous staff in beautiful Port Douglas."
