Great direct access to the pool from our room. Five minute walk to the main high street and your choice of plenty of fabulous restaurants. Room was clean, but a little tired. Good facilities in the room, but more space had been given over to the kitchenette, than space for suitcases or anywhere to put your clothes - so we were unable to fully unpack our small suitcases. Reception team were very good - helpful with answering any questions and booking transfers for us, even before our arrival- thank you!

Had a wonderful 10 night stay at Shantara. We loved being so close to Macrossan st and the beach, while the pool was an amazing end to each day. The Hotel was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. As is normal for Far North Queensland, there is not everyday cleaning service but we don’t use that anywhere anyway. Plenty of parking, but if you didn’t bring a car everything is walking distance with shuttle bus options for longer journeys. The only black mark of the stay were our neighbours on the pool deck room who were obviously upset at having a queer couple nearby, so disappointing in 2026 but not the Hotels fault at all.

The online advertising presents the property very well - but it lacks the ambiance of the images. Despite this the large studio suite felt a little dated. Kitchen accessories/utensils were very basic and would have appreciated a coffee pod machine. Laundry - washing machine had soap and lint encrusted in the dispenser and detergent was an extra cost. Basement parking was convenient. The salt water pool was good but the gym tread mill was broken and the other equipment was less than basic. Location to shops and beach is very good. Staff were helpful and polite. Overall a positive experience.
