"Melfort never disappoints; excellent staff and accommodation -only downside on this occasion, Shower of Herring closed until new people reopen it on 10 October. However, nearby Cufail Hotel supplied excellent meals."

"We visited for Mums birthday in March there were 4 of us plus one dog. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and not too far from the main buildings. I visited the pool two mornings and really enjoyed the facilities. It is a great base for exploring the West of Scotland with some beautiful scenery . We had a takeaway from the restaurant and it was delicious and well worth a try."

On the other hand I cannot praise your customer service highly enough, especially one of your reception staff named Alwyn. She was the nicest , most helpful lady I have ever come across. "Melfort was an excellent base for exploring this beautiful part of the world. The cottage was very well equipped and staff very helpful ,welcoming and dog friendly ( especially Olwynn). Good walking and stunning scenery on the doorstep. My only quibble was the fact that it isn't made very clear until after booking that electricity is charged extra ."

"We were very happy with our accommodation. Bad luck that the restaurant was closed but we made good use of the gorgeous old Pub just down the road. Pool was great as were other facilities."

"We stayed only two nights. The property is about 30 minutes outside of Oban at the edge of a smaller loch and just outside a small village. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, including when we had an issue (likely self-inflicted) with a washing machine. We would definitely stay again, and make time to stay longer and enjoy more of the area as well as the property’s many amenities. Strongly recommended."

"In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern. Onsite the Shower of Herring restaurant did not disappoint and we had two excellent meals. The resort is well maintained and this is also...

"Set in a beautiful location, quarry cottage was just perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely swimming pool, games room, snooker room. Lots of lovely walks and amazing wild life. Particularly loved the bird table. Watching all the different birds coming and going all day long. Could of happily stayed forever."
